Encasement helps local school with recycling studies

Encasement played host to a visit by pupils and teachers from a local primary school to help provide an insight into recycling, sustainability and their importance to the environment, as part of the school’s environmental studies.

Seven pupils and two teachers from Cowbit St. Mary’s Primary School, near Spalding were given a full tour of Encasement’s manufacturing and assembly plant in Peterborough to get a clear picture of how the company uses and manages its materials in the production of pre-formed plywood and metal casing systems.

This not only covered the minimising of waste, but also how the company separates the waste and works with local recycling companies to manage the wood, metal and paper waste, as well as plastics to ensure the whole process has minimum impact on the environment. The children also learned about Encasement’s use of FSC® sustainably sourced timbers, which come from managed sources and are accredited by The Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC).
