Burtonwood Deliver Temporary Generator Set to Charity Event

Burtonwood Generator & Switchgear Services has continued its support of local Warrington hospice St Rocco’s by supplying a mobile generator set for the charity’s recent Ladies Starlight Walk held through the night on the eve of the longest day.

1,500 ladies of varying ages, all dressed in pink T-shirts, massed at the start of the 9th annual walk around the Warrington area. Prior to setting off, they were put through a warm-up and entertained from a stage specially constructed for the occasion in front of the Orford Jubilee Park Centre. Burtonwood’s contribution to the charity event was the ‘free’ supply of a mobile generator set and fuel tank to power the stage equipment, lighting and music through the night as the ladies completed either a 6.5 or 13 mile course.

Burtonwood engineers installed the mobile generator and fuel supply earlier in the day in preparation for the walk. The company, who had been contacted by the hospice to see if a hire set could be supplied to provide power for the overnight entertainment, were happy to waiver any charges in support of the charity.

“We have had a long association with St Rocco’s,” said Keith Littler, Managing Director of Burtonwood, “and were delighted to be able to supply a hire set for their needs. As our chosen charity, we regularly raise funds for them through the year, our recent 100 mile charity bike ride being just another event in support.”

“We were doubly pleased when our haulage company P&P Mather also agreed to deliver and collect the generator set and fuel tank free of charge despite an early morning dawn collection as the event came to a close!”
