atg UV Technology support United Utilities to lift Boiled Water Notice for Lancashire Homes & Businesses.
This week saw atg UV Technology supply over 10 UV Treatment packages for United Utilities in under 5 days to assist in providing a solution to the recent Cryptosporidium outbreak.
Treating a combined total flow of over 140 million litres per day, atg UV systems will be used by United Utilities to protect against the threat of the parasite, Cryptosporidium from their affected reservoirs that supply over 200,000 homes and businesses in Lancashire.
As a Lancashire based UK manufacturer, atg UV were able to provide a rapid response to United Utilities, and quickly mobilised engineers to site to assist with the planning and response strategy to the outbreak. The UV Systems, including a large 6,000 m3/hr mobile water treatment package, were quickly dispatched from atg UV Technology’s manufacturing facility in Wigan to United Utilities Franklaw reservoir and surround sites.
