Barrier Components unveil new products at fit show

The main focus for Barrier Components at the FIT show were the new door kits Vista PatioSlide and VistaFold 120 along with the BarrierSabco frameless balustrade system.

Vista PatioSlide is a bottom rolling external sliding door system with height adjustable bottom rollers, a rattle proof top guidance, interlocks and locking system. In kit form it offers a one stop shop to the customer allowing the installer to choose their own glazed door to suit the project.

There are two systems available PatioSlide 100 for residential glazed patio doors and PatioSlide 200 for heavy residential or commercial glazed doors. The former comes with two rollers and a 100kg capacity, the latter with four rollers and a 200kg capacity. Both have sealed ball bearing, nylon wheels with rattle proof top guides and allow an adjustment of +/- 3mm on the height.

The product is really flexible as it’s sold in component form as kits or individual pieces. The range includes a secure six-point locking system with male/female closing jamb arrangement for maximum weather proofing. A 80mm euro cylinder is also supplied. Handles can be purchased in both satin or polished chrome in stock or white, black, smokey chrome or PVD gold on special order.

VistaFold 120 is a new bottom rolling in-line hardware system tested up to 120kg sash weight, ideal to accommodate the new E Values being demanded by the industry for British standards which has resulted in a new trend in triple glazing. It’s suitable for both residential and commercial applications offering a safe, secure and weather tight door solution. Sold in either component or kit form this new addition to the VistaFold range is manufactured from stainless steel 304 hinges, bolts and handles. Hinges and rollers have 316 stainless wheels and pins and a satin annodised aluminium track. Odd leaf sets are available from launch with even leaf system to follow shortly.

Barrier-SABCO, displayed for the first time at FIT, is a balustrade system offering the sophistication of frameless glass that can be specified for both commercial and residential projects. The result gives a hi-tech, sleek and minimal finish and offers the perfect cost effective solution for Frameless glass providing an installation that’s designed to be simple to install and achieve BS EN 6180:2011*.

The system offers some great unique features. It only requires 400mm fixing centres to achieve the 1.5kN rating therefore saving valuable time on site. The system allows for easy alignment of the glass during installation up to +/-15mm either way and once the two part clamps are installed the glass is fixed into position. Tightening is achieved via torx screws that can be tightened easily with a cordless drill - again speeding up the install time. The system includes removable covers (anodised to Marine grade 20 microns) to allow the installation of the channel without risk of damaging the finish. The natural or Satin stainless anodised covers are then simply fitted at the end of the operation.
