Oil Free Air Compressor Case Study

Background - A surgical medical device manufacturer client, whom we have been servicing since 2008, was experiencing some pressure difficulties with their current air supply.

The Facilities Manager asked if they could have a look into this for them. They believed there was a fault, possibly with the Pressure Switch, as they weren't getting enough pressure to their Packing Machine.

Diagnosis

Our Engineer and Electrician attended site and investigated this issue. They
thoroughly tested out the system and the outcome was that their existing Oil Free Atlas Copco 2.2kw Air Compressor simply couldn't supply the demand. As with many customers who add to their Compressed Air System over the years, eventually the Air Compressor simply can't keep up as capacity is exceeded.

We immediately knew due to the environment its replacement had to be another Oil Free Compressor because our client operates a class 7 cleanroom manufacturers facilities as its equipment being used in surgery must be of the highest cleanliness and quality. We proposed this to the customer who agreed that this was ideal for their needs moving forward; receiving the go ahead from the Facilities Manager the order was placed. They now have no pressure issues and enjoy trouble free running.
