New 110 kV Microfocus X-Ray Source

Hamamatsu Photonics has unveiled a new sealed type MFX which combines the advantages of a high accuracy “open type” MFX and the easy maintenance of a “sealed type” MFX.



The L12531 has a compact, lightweight design and low power consumption.

Using a “transmission target”, this new sealed type MFX achieves a high resolution of 2 micrometers at 2W, high magnification and a wide radiation angle of 120o. It is ideally suited to X-ray non-destructive inspection of a wide range of objects including printed circuit boards, electronic components and more.

X-ray inspection is a technique which provides information about the internal structure of objects such as semiconductor devices, which are not visible externally. The accuracy of this technique depends on the microfocus X-ray Source used to generate X-rays.
