Surface Dressing

Surfaces described as surface dressed shall have a single/double layer of chippings applied to a hot sprayed coat of bitumen emulsion.

This is best applied between the months of march and October with surface temperature range of 12-35 degrees Celsius but it is advisable that all preparation work to be carried out well in advance.

All surfaces that are not to be sprayed will be protected from bitumen spray drift and all adjacent surfaces shall be mark-up prior to starting works and removed on completion.

All areas will be left clean, all rubbish removed and any splashes/drift shall be thoroughly cleaned off.
