Technical design and manufacture for prologue works new cycle centric offices in Bristol

H-B Designs of Lydeway, Wiltshire were contracted to produce a number of bespoke elements that would define the iconic aesthetic for the new cycle centric offices, Prologue Works. Working with the architectural teams’ broad concept sketches, H-B designs completed the technical design and production for main building signage, door push plates, LED light frames, carpark security screens and security access columns.



Signage

The original and creative standout signage gives a clear visual identity to the Prologue Works concept. Designs produced and installed by H-B Designs, this main signage greets you at the entrance to the Prologue Works cycle centric offices.

The laser cut steel "P" stands at 1110mm high by 1481mm wide. The 10mm mild steel S275 clear lacquered signage incorporates intricate bicycle spokes and radial struts to create a distinctive and relevant theme for Bristol’s premier cycle friendly workplace. The signage is 50mm from the wall with offset key lighting to create depth. It is the final piece of the overall refurbishment in reception - tying the cycling elements together and is featured in the main foyer and ground floor reception window.

Lighting

H-B designed and produced slim line LED flat light panel frames for all areas of the building. Made from 1.5mm mild steel, powder coated to RAL7045 and weighing 3.2kg each, the frame allows maximum light with minimal interruption on the exposed surface ceilings.

Steel Security Panels

Finally, H-B turned their minds to overall office building security. To deter ASB, a deterrent to accessing the Prologue Works car park via the residential boundary walls x49 stainless steel security panels were designed and produced to fit cleverly on to the existing perimeter walls, keeping the overall look and feel of the office’s refurbishment succinct.
