Wilson Access Tackle Rugby Stadium’s Floodlight Maintenance

A Wilson Access truck mount made light work of tackling banks of floodlights at the Wakefield Trinity Wildcats rugby stadium.

The 45 metre Palfinger WT 450 truck mount, together with a Wilson operator, was used for inspection work and bulb and wiring replacement on three of the Belle Vue Stadium’s floodlight masts.

Chris Brereton, Wakefield Trinity Wildcats Director, said: “We didn’t want the truck mount to drive onto the pitch so it was important that its platform height and outreach could access the floodlight masts from positions in the car park and on the street.

“We were 100 per cent impressed with the performance of the Wilson Access truck mount and its operator and look forward to welcoming them back to carry out further floodlight inspection work in the future.”

Rob Bentley, who operated the truck mount, said: “The truck mount was working at a height of approximately 35 metres and using 14 metres outreach to position the basket so that the electrician had safe and easy access to the floodlights.”
