Revised versions of Quality Management System

Revised versions of Quality Management System standard ISO 9001:2015 and the Environmental Management System Standard ISO 14001:2015 were released in September 2015 and a three year transition period was set which runs out soon on 14th September 2018.

The same transition date also applies to the new automotive quality standard IATF 16949:2016 and other industry specific standards based on ISO 9001.

Many companies have already completed the transition however many still have not and certification bodies are extremely busy conducting the transition audits.

What does it mean for you?

Well if you have transitioned to the latest versions of these standards then you can relax.

If your audit is due soon then you will need to make sure your systems have been updated as any non-conformity raised must be closed before 14th September. If you have completed your audit but have nonconformities then these must be closed also before 14th September. Don’t delay your actions as your existing certificate will expire if you have not taken the appropriate corrective actions.
