Renewable Energy communication systems for rural areas

Through a combination of wind and solar power Zycomm have bypassed issues posed by the absence of mains power and mobile signal on the Yorkshire Moors

In rural areas a lack of access to mains power and intermittent mobile signal makes communication difficult. However, when the weather turns particularly fog which can appear with very little warning this is exactly the time when raising the alarm is vitally important.

This is why estate owners in the Yorkshire Moors and other locations have turned to us to implement a radio system with a difference.

Our renewable energy repeaters use clear sunshine during the day with the wind power easily accessible night and day at these high-altitude locations. The wind is so strong on the moors that the turbines we used are the same make as those used in the arctic!

The electricity generated by these specialist repeaters is used to charge large capacity batteries maintaining constant communication through radio use.

Safety for Sports Activities

These repeaters can be used for fell running or orienteering clubs, game shooting and other sports activities.

The safety element that this adds to the events makes a real difference especially if someone should get lost or injured.

One of our customers has already used two way radios to locate a lost member during a games shoot allowing them to find him quickly. We have two way radios that can be programmed with fall detection and GPS tracking, particularly useful in these locations where surroundings can be difficult to describe over a radio.

We spec the project, build the framework and then maintain the custom infrastructure using comprehensive site surveys and our engineering expertise.
