As one of the world’s leading designer and manufacturer of swivel joints, Rotaflow is home to a hyperbaric testing chamber that allows us to pressure test all of our products on site.

Our swivel joints are incredibly specialised − we make joints for a huge range of industries including petrochemical, subsea oil and gas, food and drink, fire safety, marine industries and many, many others. Each industry requires swivel joints and components that are able to withstand different conditions − variations in pressure, temperature, motion and fluid types to name but a few.

Part of our attention to detail and quality assurance ensures that we in-house test our swivel joints and seals, regardless of the industries they are being used in. We do this to ensure they are capable of withstanding pressures and temperatures that exceed what they would need to whilst in-situ with our clients. It’s an incredibly important facet of our business.

We designed and manufactured our own hyperbaric chamber to ensure our speed of delivery to clients was improved. Previously we would send our swivel joints off to various locations around the UK and would have to wait for a testing slot to open up − this was a time frustration and prevented us from achieving an important element of our business, a fast turnaround time.
Building our own hyperbaric chamber gave us a number of benefits…

We could test our swivel joints on-site, removing delays attributed to shipping and a test slots becoming available.
The hyperbaric testing chamber is built to our specifications, so we can test up to 6000 psi, which is equivalent to 4000m water depth.
We can test and re-test, meaning we can test the effectiveness of solutions to problems we have identified quickly.
It allows us to develop new products faster than others because of our ability to test on site.

For the first time ever, our hyperbaric chamber is available for testing services from other engineering firms.

Our hyperbaric testing chamber is located at our HQ in Whaley Bridge, Derbyshire. It means we’re centrally located in the UK so accessible with relative ease to engineering firms all over the country. With excellent motorway links, your components can reach us quickly with domestic courier services.

Pressure Test Range: 6000 PSI, 400 Bar, 4000m water depth.

Temperature Test Range: At the moment ambient.

Maximum Component Size: Vertical Chamber Internal Diameter 500mm Length 1900mm, top access.

As with anything done by Rotaflow, our testing is carried out by trained professionals and test reports will be provided, proving your components are fit for use.
