Sportsmark Road Studs
Sportsmark Group Limited provides a range of non-reflecting studs manufactured from Aluminium, Brass, Corten Steel and Stainless Steel all for the purpose of making your site or roads safer to use.
Antisocial Road StudsThese are designed to discourage skateboarding, communal drinking, loitering and other activities that might be considered antisocial. They are available from stock in Brass, Corten Steel and Stainless Steel. The dome is 25mm diameter and 15mm high, on a 9mm diameter shank 30mm long.
25mm diameter DEMARCATION STUDS - Demarcation studs are designed for pedestrian walkways, boundaries, precincts, car parks and recreation areas. Our range of demarcation studs are available in Stainless Steel, Corten Steel and Brass. They have a 9mm diameter shank 30mm long and a 25mm diameter domed head with a 15mm diameter flat 6mm high.
50mm diameter DEMARCATION STUDS
These are new to our range however we have kept the shank details, the same as the 25mm studs above. These 50mm diameter domed head studs have a 36mm diameter flat top which has 1.5mm grooves to avoid slipping.
INSTALLATION OF DEMARCATION AND ANTI-SOCIAL STUDS
Drill hole 10-12mm diameter to a depth of 35mm. Clear away the dust from interior of hole and surface to be covered by the head of the marker.
Apply small quantity of 2-pack epoxy adhesive into hole and to surface area immediately around the hole. Always wear suitable personal protective equipment when handling 2-pack epoxy adhesives.
Press stud firmly into hole until it is flush with the surface. Remove any excess adhesive.
100mm STAINLESS STEEL PEDESTRIAN STUDS - Manufactured in austenitic steel (18% Chrome, 8% Nickel) these studs are specially heat-treated to ensure maximum toughness, strength and rust resistance. They are available as a ground or polished finish, with either a fishtail or chisel shank to prevent twisting after installation. They are used for pedestrian crossings or delineation in highly trafficked areas. They are not suitable for marking car park bays, as they tend to discolour, and rely on high traffic volumes to polish them. These studs are only supplied in bags of 25.
100mm ALUMINIUM PEDESTRIAN STUDS − Available as 100mm sq or 100mm diameter. Each aluminium stud is cast from an alloy conforming to BS 1490:1988. They are supplied with a raised profile to assist skid resistance, or plain faced in the square product, and feature a fishtail shank. The studs are suitable for most road surfaces with the exception of block paviours and offer an economic alternative to the Stainless Steel versions.
The studs are usually supplied in bags of 100.
INSTALLATION OF PEDESTRIAN STUDS (100 X 100)
Drill hole 32mm diameter to a depth of 80mm. Clear away the dust from interior of hole and surface of road to be covered by the head of the marker.
Note: For concrete surfaces it is necessary to prime the hole and surrounding road surface with bitumen emulsion primer prior to grouting.
Fill the hole fully with hot bitumen grout and IMMEDIATELY insert the marker shank and firmly press the head to the road surface taking care that the marker is properly aligned.
If necessary, pressing may be supplemented by light tamping with a wood or rubber headed mallet or similar. On no account should the stud be hammered.
The surplus of bitumen will be forced out of the hole by the ingoing shank to form a bed for the head. Any surplus bitumen beyond the area of the marker should be trimmed off.
Always wear suitable personal protective equipment when handling hot bitumen and 2-pack epoxy adhesives.
