HMS EPDM Surfacing creates safe play areas for children

With NHS guidelines stating children need a range of physical exercise each day, local authority play parks offer a great space for little ones to let off steam.

And with more families outside post-lockdown, HMS is helping to provide safer play spaces with its Decra®Play EPDM safety surfacing.

One of the most recent installations was at Enfield’s Alma Estate, which is benefitting from a multi-phase 10-year programme managed by Countryside Partnerships South, which will see the demolition of several 23 storey tower blocks. The £315 million regeneration of the 1960s estate is due to be completed in 2028, with the final development comprising 993 homes, including 200 council rented properties and 199 shared-ownership houses.

Contracted by Knights Groundworks on behalf of Countryside, HMS completed the 600m+ installation in beige and chocolate 90mm EPDM coloured safety surfacing to reflect the creams and brown of the new build apartments adjacent to the park.

HMS has worked with Knight Group on a number of schemes to date, including outdoor resin surfacing and coloured surfacing installations in the greater London area.
