Relcross Door Controls, News Update
Keylex 700 from Relcross secures UK fire certification on FD30 doors in accordance with EN 1634-1:2014 (timber)
The established standard specification Keylex K700L mechanical digital lock, when fitted in conjunction with the Briton 5420 sash lock and bespoke intumescent pack, can now be used on FD30 timber fire doors. The Keylex 700 is well established in the UK and forms a core part of the wider Keylex range of mechanical digital locks. The Keylex 700 comes with a Standard duty mechanism which allows many hundreds of operations per day. The operation is entirely mechanical so there are no installation issues involving electronics or electrical wiring. The buttons are made of brushed stainless steel which helps to disguise usage while there are over 4,000 selectable code permutations with the number of buttons available. The code scramble feature means that the code can be entered in any order.
To protect the lock from forced attack or vandalism from the outside there is a slipping clutch mechanism. The lock also has a passage function which allows free passage from both sides at code users’ discretion. Two 72mm escutcheons are included to accommodate Euro profile cylinders and allow the lock to be overridden by key operation.
The Keylex 700 is available with the option of a Liquid Guard® Antimicrobial coating to help prevent the spread of bacteria within buildings.
The narrow stile Keylex 700 design, with its built-in clutch mechanism protecting the lock furniture, will suit all flush timber 44mm thick fire doors (certified EN1634-1) and all non-rated timber & hollow metal sections with stile widths down to 45mm. Stile widths will dictate your choice of lock case.
The Keylex 700 has been used in a wide range of environments from NHS hospitals to retail outlets throughout the UK and with appropriate specification and maintenance it can be expected to give many years’ of reliable secure access.
