Super-Soft 100% Organic Cotton Towels
Is organic cotton better for the environment?
With COP26 being a current topic of conversation, I think we have all thought of possible ways that we can change, to do ‘our bit’ for the environment.
Growing cotton organically reduces cotton's negative impact on the environment. Organic cotton production doesn’t affect water quality and biodiversity as much as conventional cotton does.
According to the Textile Exchange, organic cotton creates 46 % fewer greenhouse gas emissions than conventional cotton, simply by not using nitrous dioxide-releasing fertilisers and pesticides and using fewer mechanised farming practices, so contributing less to acidification and global warming.
Bursali have produced a beautifully soft towel using combed organic cotton, the reason organic cotton is softer than regular cotton is because of the longer fibres. Being handpicked ensures these fibres don't get weakened or broken, resulting in softer and more durable product.
There are also no chemical retentions from organic cotton, it's hypoallergenic, so it won't cause irritation for people with allergies, skin conditions or with specific chemical sensitivity.
Bursali’s organic cotton towels are GOTS registered (Global Organic Textile Standard) which is the worldwide certification of Organic Cotton.
The range is a 500 gsm 100% Organic Combed Cotton towel which they offer in 3 colours - Pure White, Charcoal Grey, and Natural Unbleached (which is a vanilla/linen colour) and in 4 sizes:-
