Spaciotempo install essential linkage facility that will help to drive production for Aston Martin Lagonda

When global car superpower Aston Martin opened their new state-of-the-art Lagonda manufacturing facility in St Athan, Wales to begin production of the brand-new Aston Martin DBX SUV range, they quickly required a further extension linked to the middle of the three existing super hangers on site to act as a paint shop loading area.

Aston Martin decided the honour of producing such a facility would go to Spaciotempo, who have provided a semi-permanent structure at their Gaydon Headquarters in previous years.

The decision was primarily due to the modular design of our buildings. Spaciotempo manufacture and install all our own buildings, each created with true flexibility in mind that give our customers the ultimate freedom to either link to an existing building or create a standalone structure. Furthermore, our buildings can easily be moved, extended, reconfigured, and dismantled when no longer required.

The new structure, at 20m width x 25m length on a 6m eave, will specifically be used as a delivery point and pickup point, or the start and end point of the production line for car bodywork to be painted - with direct internal access to the larger paint shop from the Spaciotempo building. The additional 500sqm space our building provides will also benfit Aston Martin with a covered workshop and storage area.

The facility boasts the exact same quality as a permanent structure and with its concrete fixings is built to last, allowing Aston Martin to keep the building operational indefinitely. It was fitted with a host of customisation options, including rapid speed roller shutter doors for ease of access and vermin flashing at eave height to completely seal off the structure from any unwanted visitors and to aid heat retention.

Daz Logan, Managing Director for Spaciotempo commented “We were delighted to provide Aston Martin Lagonda with the additional covered storage space that they needed to assist in the production of their brand-new SUV fleet.”

“We were able to dip into our wealth of experience in both working alongside vehicle manufacturers and creating a seamless, linkable building on this project”
