Rear Staircase Balustrade for a Large New Build
We have had the pleasure of crafting and installing the simple yet elegant rear service staircase balustrade for a large private new build in Chigwell, Essex.
Due to the tight turns and limited space a side mounted balustrade was chosen with cast collars to cover where these affix to the stringer. A simple spindle design featuring a small cast iron boss provides an uncluttered feel and reflects the contemporary interior of the home.
The staircase runs from the top floor to the basement which has a small matching gate allowing access into the stairwell.
The image shows part of the balustrade after having the bespoke, elliptical profile, mitred handrail installed and perfectly encapsulates the technical complexity of the multiple transitions and joins on a staircase of this kind of layout.
We have also created a grand, sweeping balustrade with a brass handrail for the main staircase of this property…watch this space!
