Comax wins Regional Distributor of The Year!

Ringwood based commercial catering, hospitality & janitorial distributor Comax UK, has won the coveted “Regional Distributor of the Year” award at the annual Foodservice Packaging Association (FPA) Awards.

The FPA is the voice of the foodservice packaging industry, engaging with the government, government committees, NGOs and relevant trade associations, working tirelessly for a secure future for the industry.

Celebrating the best manufacturers and distributors of the UK’s hospitality industry, the FPA Awards honour the excellence, best practice, innovation, sustainability and creativity of the sector.

The ceremony was held at the luxurious Grand Hotel, Brighton on Thursday 9th March, hosted by comedian Zoe Lyons, and attended by over 400 FPA members and their guests.

The FPA Regional Distributor title, voted for by the manufacturer members of the FPA, is awarded to the distributor who stands out in the sector across multiple criteria. It recognises;

• Business performance during what has been very difficult trading
• Governance, behaving ethically in everything they do
• Investing in their business and their teams
• Demonstrating they listen to their customers
• Maintaining strong dialogue with manufacturers
• Team and customer training
• Staff product knowledge and quality of supporting catalogues & online material
• Standing head and shoulders above other regional distributors in day-to-day operation

Established over 30 years ago by current MD Graham Moakes, Comax has become one of the largest distributors in the South central region, trusted by customers across a broad range of industries, including hospitality, commercial cleaning, care and education.

The award follows the recent opening of a brand new showroom experience, in celebration of their 30th anniversary, at Comax head office. The new purpose built consultation area consists of luxurious seating and a bespoke built bar called The Juniper Tree. It provides the perfect space for their experienced sales team to help customers immerse themselves in the impressive showroom space, featuring extraordinary ranges of all the latest tableware, glassware, sustainable packaging and cleaning supplies.
