Trip Amplifiers in Process Safety Monitoring & Control applications

AMELEC Instruments has been manufacturing and supplying a wide range of quality, robust and reliable trip amplifiers for the process industry sectors for over 45 years now.

Trip Amplifiers provide an additional layer of safety to critical industrial processes, by monitoring for abnormal or unsafe conditions and then initiating a safety action, alarm, trip or even complete shutdown if necessary. Process variables such as flow, level, load, speed, temperature or pressure are monitored, and the signals received from sensors are compared to the High &/or Low Trip set points..

If the measured signal exceeds a set point, therefore indicating a potentially unsafe condition, the associated output relay contacts from the trip amp will change state to initiate either the Opening/Closing of a Valve, Starting/Stopping of a Pump for example, or maybe another control system, Alarm/ Safety Interlock and ultimately a Shutdown.

AMELEC trip amplifiers themselves are up to SIL 2 rated in 1oo1 architecture (HFT:0 , IEC 61508-2), suitable for either Din Rail, Surface or front of Panel mounting and available for quick delivery from our UK factory with up to 10 year warranty.

Please do contact our sales team with your full specification requirements if you would like any help in choosing the trip amplifier best suited to your process safety monitoring application.
