Celebrating 50 Years in the Temporary & Semi-Permanent Building Industry
50 Years of Temporary Building Expertise
Spaciotempo have hit 50 years’ service to the temporary & semi-permanent building industry, and we think that is good cause to take a peek behind the curtain. In this special feature, we sit down with Managing Director Daz Logan to get an insight into the past, present and future of the company as we discuss the factors behind the longevity against the backdrop of the wider industry.“We set the standard that our competitors want to achieve” said Managing Director Daz Logan in his opening remark, adding “We continue to make a significant impact on the market by constantly being on the front foot and staying ahead of legislature change within our sector”
The Spaciotempo Difference
Since it’s amalgamation into the Spaciotempo brand in 2006, the business has always strived to be the pioneers of change in the temporary buildings sector. Introduced that same year, the Neivalu and Oxygen buildings benefit from a knee brace system in the truss as opposed to the traditional method of cross wire braces at eave height, meaning customers can store unobstructed right up to the apex; and then by the time of the Grenfall Fire disaster in 2017, Spaciotempo were already using PIR cavity insulation in every install, which is noted for its low thermal conductivity as a fire preventative measure, as well its energy efficiency.
Furthermore, the high-grade 40mm UPVC walling that is used on all temporary structures when a customer chooses to hire instead of purchase is reusable, meaning that the product can be dismantled and redeployed elsewhere for years to come, rather than being single use. In fact, 100% of our aluminium frames and recyclable and up to 40% of are aluminium frames currently in circulation is already recycled material.
When asked about the environmental impact of trading in an industry that relies heavily on manpower and machinery, the Managing Director commented “Environmental sustainability is always at the forefront of our thoughts, and we will never shortcut on these values by trying to cut corners.”
Offering up several examples, he added “In addition to the reusability of our building components, we work with trusted, experienced suppliers to offer LED energy saving lighting, or even motion sensors, and thermo roofing options − all of which contribute to helping our customers save on energy bills whilst reducing our carbon footprint.”
A Global Backing from GL events Group
Built on the rock-solid foundations of the GL events group, the business was able to take the Covid-19 pandemic in its stride because of corporate stability and the people who are committed to deliver quality and timely services every day.
“We appreciate the governance of the GL events group and embrace the Golden Rules, applying those same values in everything that we do here at Spaciotempo” Daz Logan said.
The Golden Rules are a set of shared principles applied across every division in the GL events group that lays out a framework with a common goal to be #BetterTogether and includes anything from developing its people to complying with the very latest laws and regulations.
“By investing in our people, we get imagination, drive and determination in return” he added, “and with us having the backing of such a global player in the events industry, who set such high standards across the board, it is reflected straight onto our customers with the support network that we are able to offer them on their journey with Spaciotempo − such as the in-house manufacturing of our product to the quality of the aftersales care we can provide”
“We’ll only keep improving and continue to grow.”
Celebrations
After wrapping up our final major installation of 2022, with many thanks to our friends at Associated British Ports, we jumped on the opportunity to light up their brand-new building with our distinctive shade of teal alongside our commemorative 50th anniversary company logo using a custom-made gobo projector.
We also couldn’t let the occasion pass us by without updating our company logo which you’ll be able to see displayed across all our marketing channels, to reflect our longevity, heritage and ongoing commitment to provide quality temporary building solutions to our loyal customers.
We took our traditional logo and gave it a refresh, incorporating the ’50 years’ wording into it as we get ready to enter the next half century of our story.
