Beechdean Ice Cream Manufacturer Chooses Jacksons’ V Mesh
Since its establishment in 1989, Beechdean Dairies has been a prominent and highly regarded ice cream manufacturer in the United Kingdom, and is considered the third largest ice cream manufacturer in the UK.
Their commitment to producing high-quality dairy ice cream has made them a trusted supplier to specialist retail outlets and prestigious high-profile venues nationwide.Beechdean has a large-scale operation running from their Cheshire based food manufacturing plant. The site is home to the company’s food manufacturing plant as well as a local tourist attraction, The Ice Cream Factory.
Security is important in the food processing sector and as part of the security strategy on site, a bespoke fencing and access solution was needed to secure the site that comprised of office buildings, outside areas, a car park, water tower and of course the two main manufacturing buildings.
To secure the site from trespassing and help prevent any interference with processes, Jacksons installed over 118m of 1.8m high EuroGuard® Regular fencing, creating a new perimeter that closed off all previous open access. With a V mesh design profile and 200x50mm apertures, EuroGuard® Regular is an ideal choice for medium-risk commercial applications, as its anti-climb design with tamper-proof connectors proves difficult to breach or scale. To enhance the security and controlled access to the site, two sets of large double-leaf matching EuroGuard® Regular gates were installed at the main access points, spanning 8m and 6m respectively. They effectively restrict access to the loading areas and car park, while being large enough to accommodate delivery supply vehicles.
In addition to the large double-leaf gates, the installation also incorporated 5m and 1m wide matching single-leaf gates to facilitate access to smaller outside areas and provide convenient pedestrian entry. The 1m pedestrian gate was installed to open outward for ease of entry and fitted with a mechanical keylock as an additional security measure.
