Safe storage of medicines and controlled drugs
The Problem - A mental health crisis team needed to hold a stock of medicines to be administered in the home setting.
The remote premises that the crisis team used were one small office plus an even smaller side room with a digital door lock. There was no air conditioning in the premises and in the summer the temperature often exceeded 25°C. The internal walls were of brick construction. QED Scientific was approached to see if we could offer a solution. The Solution
After visiting the premises we recommended either one of our cooled MED-CRT cabinets fitted with an inner CD or a CD-CRT cabinet that could store whatever necessary medicines all under secure controlled drugs standards. Both options required fixing to a solid wall in order to comply with statutory regulations.
The two solutions were virtually the same cost and our client opted for the CD-CRT solution.
Follow-Up
After the wall cabinet was installed we visited our customer and there were nothing but positive comments from them. They had never known the cabinet temperature go above 25°C and they really liked the simplicity of the storage.
They had lots of spare capacity and therefore future-proofed their storage needs.
