Charting an expansion course: Starlab aquires Life Systems Design AG in Switzerland

Starlab is strengthening its core business and expanding in Central Europe

• Life Systems Design AG becomes Starlab Schweiz AG in the course of the aquisition
• The Starlab Group now comprises of companies in Germany, France, the UK, Italy and Switzerland

Starlab International GmbH, the Hamburg-based laboratory products manufacturer was already a shareholder of the Swiss Life Systems Design AG, an established distributor of quality products for research laboratories, and is now acquiring the remaining shares. The respective contract has been signed by both companies and executed on 15th of August, 2023. With this strategic acquisition, Starlab is strengthening its core business and continuing its expansion across Central Europe. As one of the world's leading manufacturers of liquid handling laboratory products for the life science industry as well as for academic and commercial research, the company isreaffirming its commitment to regional presence and local customer service.

Founded in 1997, Life Systems Design AG quickly established itself as a trusted partner for research laboratories. The company specialises in liquid handling consumables and instruments for PCR and high throughput applications. In 2000, Life Systems became the exclusive Swiss supplier for Starlab's TipOne® pipette tip system, known for the highest level of precision and universal tip fit with the entire range of laboratory pipettes.
