Sesame Access Director Alison Lyons awarded OBE for outstanding contributions to global accessibility

Sesame Access Systems Ltd, located in West Byfleet, proudly announces that Alison Lyons, Director of Commercial Development, has been honoured with an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the New Year''s Honours list 2023.

Alison Lyons attended the ceremony on Wednesday, November 8th, to receive her OBE from King Charles III at Buckingham Palace. This recognition is a testament to her exceptional services to the Department for International Trade and individuals with disabilities.

Sesame Access Systems Ltd specialises in designing, building, installing, and servicing bespoke wheelchair lifts, with a particular focus on invisible retracting lifts suitable for Listed and Heritage Buildings.

The company's international clientele includes prestigious landmarks such as the Sydney Opera House, Seattle Space Needle, Qatar National Library, Sotheby's and Christie's Auction Houses in Paris, and Apple Stores.

Sesame Access Systems Ltd has been actively involved in promoting UK exports internationally, working closely with the Department for International Trade (DIT). Alison expressed her appreciation for the collaborative efforts that have contributed to Sesame's success, especially in international trade.

She extended her gratitude towards Andrew Mapstone (Sesame's International Trade Advisor), Janet Edwards (DIT Programme Manager), Yann Berjonneau (Acces+) (Sesame's French Agent), and Christine Taylor-Colas (Trade Advisor British Embassy Paris) for their invaluable support throughout Sesame's export journey.

Alison Lyons further expressed her gratitude, stating, "I am very honoured to have been awarded an OBE in the 2023 New Year's Honours list. This OBE belongs to everyone at Sesame Access.
