Asbestos Removal/Management

Westfield continues to remain active across our key work sectors, which include healthcare, education, industrial and commercial, residential and Local Authority Housing.

Below is a typical example of our site set up where we have been engaged to remove asbestos soffits and fascia’s before they are replaced by newer safe materials such as Upvc.

This is a great example of providing safe access to our works area and the scaffold also provides excellent protection to our enclosures in the case of inclement weather such as the high winds and rains we have all experienced over the last few months. Remember if you are thinking of replacing your soffit and fascia’s make sure you check for the presence of asbestos containing materials before you start. Older materials can be over boarded by newer materials so please make sure your proposed contractor carries out a comprehensive check before removal.

The HSE launched their campaign Asbestos Your Duty on 15th January. This aims to improve understanding of what the legal duty to manage asbestos involves. There is a legal duty to manage asbestos, which covers a wide range of buildings such as museums, schools, hospitals, and places of worship, as well as workplaces such as offices and factories. Further information can be found on our website.
