Chancellor Jeremy Hunt visits leading disabled access manufacturer to discuss re-launch of Help To Grow scheme

Following the remarkable success of the initial Help To Grow scheme, Jeremy Hunt visited a leading disabled access manufacturer whose participation in the scheme contributed to doubling their international sales.

Sesame Access Systems, located in West Byfleet, Surrey, works with architects to design and manufacture bespoke wheelchair lifts on a global scale, with a focus on listed and heritage buildings.

The leading lift manufacturer's participation in the scheme from November 2021 to March 2022 successfully doubled their international sales, validating the initiative as a strategic success in their growth plan.

Jeremy's visit aimed to showcase how the relaunched scheme benefits SMEs, using Sesame Access as a prime example. The centralised platform, with its easy access to advice and support, acts as a guide for businesses to achieve successful growth.

This scheme is designed and delivered by industry experts and runs over 12 weeks, including online and face-to-face sessions, 1-to-1 mentoring and peer networking.

Alison Lyons, Director of Commercial Development at Sesame Access, said “I am delighted that Jeremy had the opportunity to witness firsthand how this scheme has positively transformed our business.

“Everyone at Sesame Access found great value in the knowledge and confidence gained from the scheme, allowing them to work diligently and bring our vision to life.

“The program not only doubled our international sales but also positioned us as a leading global manufacturer of disabled access solutions.

“We highly recommend it to any SME aiming to surpass their limits and thrive, benefitting from a fantastic support system that guides them throughout the entire program.”

Sesame Access has successfully installed lifts in prestigious locations, including Sydney Opera House, Kensington Palace, Seattle Space Needle, Qatar National Library, and Bank of England, making them a global leader in the lift manufacturing industry.
