Frequently Asked Questions
We get that when you’re wanting to look at replacing bespoke joinery items for your home that you naturally have questions and concerns, so we are going to use this blog to answer some of the questions that we are frequently asked;
Question: Do you need to visit my property to provide an initial quote?
Answer: the short answer is no; we can offer an initial quote based off approximate sizes and photographs of your existing doors or windows. Following this initial estimate if you are looking to move forward then we will attend your property to carry out a detailed site survey and answer any queries or concerns you may have.
Question: Can you replicate our existing joinery items?
Answer: Yes, as we are a small workshop that handcraft all our joinery items, we can exactly match any style of joinery even if we need to get bespoke tooling made to match existing mouldings and details. We also specialise in a lot of curved and arched joinery work, meaning we can replicate any existing details.
Questions: can we visit your workshop to see work in progress?
Answer: yes, we always actively encourage clients to visit our workshop to see firsthand any projects that are currently going through the workshop, this also allows clients to meet the team behind our joinery products. You are also more than welcome to visit the workshop to see your own joinery items as they progress through the different manufacturing stages.
Question: do you offer a design service?
Answer: Yes, once an order is confirmed we can work with you and provide CAD drawings to ensure you are happy with the order before we progress to the manufacture stage.
Question: Do offer an installation service?
Answer: Yes, if you are local to our workshop then we can also offer a full installation service ensuring your runs smoothly and is installed to our high standards, but don’t worry if you are not local to us, we can supply all of our joinery on a nationwide basis.
Question: What’s the lead time from order?
Although this can depend on our current workload, and the size of your order as a rule of thumb we are usually around 12-14 weeks lead time from confirmation of order, this is due to the handmade bespoke nature if the work we do, were not Amazon! Unfortunately.
Question: Can you supply doors and windows in any colour?
Answer: Yes, we offer a full colour matching service, and using our paint manufacturer Anker Stuy we can mix high quality mico-porus paint to the majority of the leading paint suppliers such as Farrow & Ball, Little Green or Benjamin Moore. We can even provide your joinery in dual colour.
Question: do you just manufacture doors and windows?
Answer: No, we can manufacture any bespoke joinery items, such as gates, shutters, internal doors, period skirting boards, architraves, and mouldings, please see here for our page dedicated to internal joinery
Question: What timber do you recommend for external doors and windows
Answer: we manufacture out of a few timber species; we always recommend either Accoya or Abodo modified timbers due to their stability and longevity. However, we do also use hardwoods such as Sapele, European Oak and Douglass Fir should you request this.
Question: do you only supply secondary glazing in aluminium?
Answer: No, as we are a manufacturer that makes everything to order if you would like your secondary glazing made from timber rather than our aluminium system, then that’s not an issue.
This is a brief just some of the most common questions asked by potential clients when they are looking to work with us, if you have any other questions then please feel free to get in touch and we can answer any queries you have and discuss your joinery needs.
