On 5th March 2024, Technical Alarm Systems (TAS) celebrated the 25th Anniversary of its incorporation, having been founded by Stan Brooke in 1999, with a lunch for its customers and suppliers.
The company is well-respected for putting the customer first, always seeking to do the right thing because professional credibility is so important to them.
TAS looks after many landmark structures including important ecclesiastical buildings such as Westminster and Exeter Cathedrals, Romsey Abbey and Christchurch Priory. The team has the skill and knowledge to rectify major issues in older architectural wonders, as well as installing and maintaining new systems in modern buildings. “Good fire engineers are at a premium, and there are few who do it the TAS way,” said one customer, congratulating TAS on its 25th Anniversary.Ian Cox, Senior Estate Manager at Lakeside North Harbour said,
“TAS have been working at Lakeside North Harbour, Portsmouth for over 15 years providing an excellent response and service over this time period. We have enjoyed a great relationship with TAS and nominate them as a preferred contractor to all incoming contractors particularly for commissioning and final connections. We receive the same engineers for all our call outs and servicing. This is extremely important with our system which has over 3000 devices spread over seven buildings; the same engineers keep continuity and understanding of our complex systems. TAS are a great local company, competitive with a personal service and excellent support which I would highly recommend.”
Malcolm Brooke, Stan’s son, has been working at TAS since September 2000 and recalls looking after HMS Victory for five years: “We installed and maintained the fire alarm systems. The Pump House was built behind the Museum and linked to the ship to supply the water for the water mist system to protect the historic vessel. I knew a huge amount about that ship, and it felt as if I lived on it for about 18 months!”
Stan Brooke talks about the BAFE accredited company with enormous enthusiasm. “We have always done jobs in a way that is engineer-focused, creating designs and plans that customers tell us they normally have to pay consultants to do,” he says. “I remember Southampton City Council being one of the first to put sprinklers into its high-rise blocks, and being really proud of being based in such a caring City.”
The team is truly grateful to its customers and their suppliers for supporting their success for so many years. “We want to say a big ‘Thank You’ to all existing customers, as well as our suppliers, some of whom knew us before we had even started TAS.”
