How to care for and maintain your Avalon Couches
Avalon Couches are crafted and engineered for durability, ensuring they serve you well for many years, as they represent a significant investment in your treatment room.
To extend the lifespan of your couches, we recommend several key practices for our customers.
Regular cleaning and maintenance will help preserve their condition and functionality. Here are some tips to ensure your Avalon Couches remain in top shape:
Routine Cleaning – Wipe down the surfaces with a soft, damp cloth and a mild, non-abrasive cleaner such as Haz-tab or Chlor-Clean. Rub evenly in the direction of the grain of the material then rinse with clean water afterwards. Can also be steam cleaned. This will help remove any dust, dirt, and oils that can accumulate over time.
Avoid Harsh Chemicals – Use cleaning products specifically designed for antimicrobial surfaces. Harsh chemicals can degrade the material over time, reducing its effectiveness and longevity. DO NOT USE bleaches, solvents, abrasives, wax polishes or aerosol sprays.
Regular Servicing – After your 3 year guarantee has finished, we recommend scheduling regular servicing with out in house engineers, to ensure that all mechanical parts are functioning correctly. Some companies, including Harrods, require this for their insurance. Having regular servicing can help prevent any potential issues before they become major problems. You can find our more about our servicing here.
Responsible Usage – Encourage clients to be mindful while using the couches. Providing clear instructions on how to sit or lie down properly can prevent undue stress on the furniture. Avoid overloading it with weight beyond its capacity. This will help prevent unnecessary strain on its structure.
Protect from Direct Sunlight – Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight can cause fading and damage to the upholstery. If your treatment room has large windows, consider using blinds or curtains to limit sunlight exposure during peak hours.
Avoid Heat – Avoid storing or using your table in or near extreme heat. The heat from heaters and electrical appliances can cause the fabric to stretch and pucker, and eventually start to peel.
Exercise Caution with Sharp Objects – When using sharp items like needles during your practice, ensure there is a protective layer on the table. Placing a towel or blanket beneath your fitted sheet can help safeguard the upholstery.
Check for Wear and Tear – Periodically inspect the couch for any signs of damage or wear, such as tears in the upholstery or loose screws. Addressing these issues early can prevent more significant problems down the line.
By incorporating these simple practices into your routine, you can ensure that your Avalon Couches remain a reliable and comfortable fixture in your practice for years to come.
