SPEEDECK Lays the Foundations for Hampshire’s Future at Welborne Garden Village

The highly anticipated Welborne Garden Village development in Hampshire is well underway, with SPEEDECK on site delivering robust and efficient piled raft foundations.

This ambitious project, set to create thousands of homes, embraces sustainable design and innovative construction techniques—key factors in ensuring its long-term success.

As part of the initial phase, SPEEDECK are constructing the foundation works for 80 homes and their garages, providing a seamless full-scope solution that includes blinding, piling, drainage, raft construction, and concrete pouring. The team has been hard at work, ensuring the smooth integration of each structural component to support the future community.

One of the key challenges at Welborne has been the diverse ground conditions, which consist of Made Ground over River Terrace Deposit clay and sand, resting on a chalk base. However, with extensive experience in foundation engineering, SPEEDECK has tailored its approach to ensure stability and durability, leveraging its in-house expertise in geotechnical engineering combined with piled raft construction to accommodate the unique geological makeup.
