Bristol City Council has recently promised to invest in cycling and walking, and to initiate 20mph zones on all roads within the city ‘where possible’.
Research around the country has shown that in built-up areas, on non-arterial roads, where the speed limit is reduced from 30mph to 20mph there is typically an average decline in casualties of at least 20% .
Planters from Goplastic Ltd have been chosen for many of these sites. The heavy duty recycled plastic means durability, no maintenance and an attractive alternative to concrete. They can be manufactured in bespoke sizes to fit all the various site requirements. Planted up, the planters will provide a colourful and cheerful addition to the city streets. Reflectors, lights and information signs can easily be added to the planters, so solving 2 issues at once.
