Essential Beauty Supplies Ltd has been in business now for fourteen years.

The company started as a distributor for the Australian Bodycare range of products and gradually grew to take on other lines including La Phyto, Reference Waxing, Rocky Mountain, Hive of Beauty, House of Famuir, Sterex, Bellitas, Oritree and many more.

We also run many training courses that include Hot Stones, Indian Head Massage, Ear Candles, Hawaiian Lomi Lomi Massage, Thai Foot Massage, Thai Massage, Brazillian and Hollywood Waxing and many more.

We have now launched our own range of Tea Tree Products called Outback Organics, a complete range of Tea Tree products that contain natural, organic plants sourced from a company in Australia who financially support the indigenous people who plant and harvest them (fair trade).

Tea Tree oil is natures strongest known natural antiseptic. The aborigines of New South Wales, Australia discovered Tea Tree Oil after they held the waters of Bungawalbin Creek with a bit of magical reverence.

The name meant something like ‘healing ground’, and they believed the water held some sort of magical power. The leaves of the Tea Tree would fall into the water and decompose on the ground, and the tribes would use the mud and the waters to treat various ailments.

Then in 1770 Captain James Cook travelled north through the coastal regions of New South Wales. During this trek, he and his crew noticed massive groves of trees, thick with sticky aromatic leaves. The local natives told him about the healing power of these trees and how they had, for many years, used the crushed leaves to treat cuts and wounds. Crushed leaves were applied directly to an injury, then held in place with a mud pack to create a poultice that helped fight infection in the wound.

In 1923 Dr A. R Penfold, curator and chemist, discovered Tea Tree Oil to be thirteen stronger an antiseptic bactericide than carbolic acid, which was what they used in the early 1900’s.
During World War 11, an outbreak of foot-fungus became so bad that is hospitalised hundreds of Australian soldiers. None of the ‘modern’ ointments worked to stop this fungus. A medic, who was an aborigine from Australia, remembered about the Tea Tree and got some of the Oil. The doctors coated the soldiers feet with the oil and the fungus was killed within a few days!
