Special Needs Charity Drive to raise £1 million

Guy Butcher from bespk.com is behind this ambitious project which is intended to raise £1,000,000 for children with special needs.

Bespk are planning to make a 25,000 mile road trip in a 1930’s Austin 7, travelling from New York to Tierra del Fuego. The proposed start date is March/April 2012.

The car started life as a Ruby four seater tourer. It had been bought as a wreck by a welder who had shortened the chassis to 6''3" but kept the original Girling type axles. A Chummy body made by RTC was fitted and to all intents and purposes it looked to the casual observer like a 1928 Chummy. The vehicle has been totally dismantled and all the parts cleaned prior to further detailed inspection, repair, repainting and reassembly. The intention is to reassemble the chassis engine gearbox back axle before refitting the body for reassurance that it all goes together before repainting the body and wings.

Guy’s request to Polyformes was to see if we could assist with the supply of 1” thick Ethafoam to be used within the door panels as an easily cut and shaped, lightweight material, thus helping to reduce weight and fuel costs to a minimum.

Guy − it’s on its way! And good luck to all at bespk.com with this project from Polyformes Ltd., the UK’s favourite foam converter and specialist machinists of all grades of closed-cell expanded polyethylene foam including Plastazote, Ethafoam, Stratocell and Microlen.
