Choosing a new office photocopier that won’t break the bank
If you are starting a new business, or you already run one but your document solutions change, or your current copier is consistently breaking down and your service contract has expired, you may find the need to shop for a new office photocopier.
No matter what your requirements, you’ll want to find a copier that is affordable, good value for money in terms of functionality, and hopefully with very little needed in the photocopiermaintenance department. These days, everyone is looking for value--the best buy for the money spent. Looking at and researching the many options that are available is a smart move, but what should you look at specifically to ensure you get the best buy for your needs?
Among other things speed, quality, and reliability are all points to consider when choosing a photocopier. After this it is very much a matter of personal needs. So for example,do you have a need for colour copiers and colour printouts? Do you need fax, printing or scanning capabilities? Is your business the type that requires black and white copies in quantity or just a few high resolution colour copies per day? Are reliability and speed of printing the biggest factors when choosing a photocopier? Do you have a network that requires your mono and colour copiers to be compatible?
When you decide what functions and specifications you need your photocopier to have, you can then look at individual models. There are many affordable Konica and Sharp copiers on the market, both of which start with very reasonably priced models. If you do a bit of legwork you can easily find a document solutions system that is right for your business and is within your budget.
The office photocopier market is huge (mainly because of the option to have printers, scanners and fax machines built in) but many of the basic models are quite affordable. Surprisingly there are probably as many functions available on expensive models as there are models on the market, and you may find that many of the more sophisticated functions are beyond your needs. As an example, speed of printing or networking capability may not be something that is really important to your small business or home business.
By all means take a look at the selection of photocopiers with print, scan and fax capabilities before making the decision as to whether these options are something you need…but remember to consider the future and the needs you may have then.
