Engineered Surfacing

Engineered Surfacing

We design floor finishes so that you get the performance you want. Structure, thickness, texture, colour, resistance to chemicals can all be tailored to meet your needs.

Using approved variations, we make industrial floors relevant for their intended use, keeping costs down whilst building durability in.
BIF - EP - Coat WB

BIF - EP - Coat WB

Our two-part, water-based coloured epoxy coatings provide an entry point to advanced industrial floor coatings systems.

Not to be confused with floor paint, Water-based Epoxy Coatings deliver fantastic durability and are incredibly hard wearing when used in the right environments and particularly suited to new build projects.

Water-based industrial floor coatings are water-miscible, which means they can be applied on freshly poured concrete surfaces, without the expense of a DPM Primer, or waiting for the concrete to dry sufficiently. These coatings allow dampness to breath from new concrete.

Offering outstanding durability with foot traffic, a correctly applied coating will support hygiene and prevent dust proliferation, often seen in areas with bare concrete surfaces.
BIF - EP - Coat HB

BIF - EP - Coat HB

High Build Coatings are the next step up from water-based coatings, providing additional durability and a thicker, smoother surface layer.

They're also solvent free, allowing installation whilst production continues in adjacent areas. Where slip resistance may be an issue High Build Coatings can be installed with an added fine aggregate to increase under foot traction.

These systems need a dry substrate, with a maximum 75%RH. Readings taken above these levels should require either a surface chemical DPM Primer, or use of a water-based epoxy (see above), however BIF will provide advice on suitability.
BIF-EP-Quartz

BIF-EP-Quartz

The system consists of 3 main sections. Each can be modified to suit situations on site, or tailored to give you more of what you need.

Section 1 - Regulation Layer

This provides a stabilising and smoothing layer over your existing floor. If required we can include a chemical dpm here, and fibre reinforcement. Where the floor needs leveling we tailor the regulation process to provide the necessary amount of smoothing.

Section 2 - Quartz Body Layer

Once the floor is sufficiently smooth and level, our team apply a layer of resin and fully cast the surface with decorative aggregates. The surface is then filled with clear resin.

Section 3 - Surface Treatment

Depending on the type and degree of slip resistance needed, our team then treat the surface using specific techniques. The surface finish will be uniform in profile and appearance.

By working in this way, smaller areas won't take any longer to complete other similar systems, but you will get a very dense, attractive floor finish.

Significant savings can be seen on larger areas where the system saves time because it can be installed more quickly than similar materials.

Whether your project is large or small, it's the surface regularity and consistency which appeals most to most to our customers.

BIF-EP-Flow

BIF-EP-Flow

In standard form, BIF-EP-Flow is installed over an epoxy primer at a nominal 2mm thickness. Where the floor undulates, BIF can apply a Regulating Primer Layer to remove undulation prior to installation of the resin screed.

The finished surface is very smooth and has a high gloss finish. In areas where the floor may become scratched, BIF can apply a clear silk seal to reduce glare and provide added protection to the epoxy surface.

The standard system can be tailored and additional decorative effects can be produced by the introduction of coloured acrylic flakes, lightly scattered on the surface and sealed (please see BIF-EP-Flec product page).

An anti-slip finish can be created for areas where underfoot safety are of concern. (please see BIF-EP-Grip Eco product Page)

Product Benefits:

Seamless finish
Easy to clean & maintain
Excellent chemical resistance
Highly durable
Decorative
Hygienic
Non-Dusting
Available in a wide range of attractive colours
BIF - P - Elastic

BIF - P - Elastic

BIF - P - Elastic (see photo) has been installed over an aged and heavily used Steel Checker Plate mezzanine floor. As requested by the Client , the plate surface texture has been completely obliterated by installing the self-flowing resin in 2 layers, to provide a more comfortable. easier to clean & safer working surface finish. The flexible nature of the system provides lasting protection against constant vibration which resonates through the structure, emitted by equipment thrashing away in the area. The surface was sealed with a textured layer for added slip resistance.

This installation is approximately 4mm thick and is finished with a resin cove skirting detail, dressed to our hygienic PVC Wall Cladding system.
BIF-P-Elastic Industrial

BIF-P-Elastic Industrial

In standard form, BIF-P-Elastic Industrial is installed over an epoxy primer at a nominal 2mm thickness. Where the floor undulates, BIF can apply a Regulating Primer Layer to remove undulation prior to installation of the resin screed.

The finished surface is very smooth and is sealed with a satin or matt sealer to lock in colour stability .

The standard system can be tailored and can include a self levelling baselayer for added durability or increased flatness of the finished surface.

An anti-slip finish can be created for areas where underfoot safety are of concern. (please see BIF-EP-Grip Eco product Page)

Product Benefits:

3 - 6mm thicknesses available
Easy to clean & maintain
Very good chemical resistance
Impervious
Crack Bridging
Solvent free & low VOC
Highly durable
Self levelling (SR1 flatness achieved)
Decorative
Hygienic
Non-Dusting
Available in a wide range of attractive colours
BIF-EP-GripEco

BIF-EP-GripEco

BIF-EP-GripEco is an epoxy resin based floor finish. Stabilisation is achieved by use of a fibre reinforced Regulating layer, onto which a Baselayer of epoxy is fully blinded with Quartz Aggregate. The finish is then grout filled with a Clear Epoxy Layer before a final Clear Polyurethane Layer is applied.

The finish achieved is flat, consistent, easy to clean.

Surface finish can be tailored to your design. In its standard form, the surface finish provides a good level of slip resistance. By increasing the layer of epoxy, the finish can be engineered to be completely smooth if the system is intended for dry areas.

Available with either a clear or coloured seal, BIF-EP-GripEco provides a tough working surface at a realistic cost for industrial applications.

Suitable for;

Warehousing
Safety Walkways
Engineering Works
Auto Repair Centres
Assembly Lines
Works Changing Rooms & Washrooms
