Live In Care

Live In Care

Having a live in carer allows you to stay in your own home and lead as normal a life as possible. Live in carers duties vary and can include some domestic work, such as light cleaning, helping with or preparing food, assisting the client with bathing and dressing. They may also accompany the client on shopping trips, walks etc.

Carers are often trained to deal with specialist conditions such as Dementia, Parkinson, Palliative Care, Stroke, End of Life and MS.

Live in carers work very closely with both the client and their families to ensure the right level of care is provided. Carers act almost like a member of the family, often building strong relationship with them. A carer also offers companionship, this is often overlooked but is a very important part of the job, as is building trust with family members.
Dementia Care

Dementia Care

Dementia is a term used to cover a range of progressive disorders affecting the brain. Arguably the best known is Alzheimer’s disease. Essentially a person suffering from Dementia will have difficulty remembering things, making it increasingly difficult to carry out basic tasks. Each person will have their own unique behaviour, thereby requiring a personalized care plan.

Devoncare,s staff are experienced in dealing with people suffering from Dementia. We undertake a thorough assessment of the clients needs. We do this by liaising with the family and other professionals in order to fully understand the clients needs. We will then assemble a care team to meet with the client and family and agree a care package.
Personal Care

Personal Care

There is no set reason or age for a person requiring personal care. Devoncare can provide the type of Personal care that fits the individual client needs. This could be a short term requirement, or an ongoing. Either way Devoncare will be able to satisfy the clients needs. Care packages are tailored to individual client needs and requirement.

We offer care on an hourly (minimum six hours), daily or on going. Care can be specialist, including administering medication and assisting with routine daily matters.
Palliative Care

Palliative Care

Palliative care sometimes called "supportive care" is ongoing care for someone with a terminal illness and their family. The aim is to ensure the person enjoys as fulfilling a quality of life as possible given their circumstance. This could include, but not limited to:-

Personal care
Helping with the preparation of meals, light cleaning
helping with washing and dressing
Providing psychological and emotional support
Help with medication
Support for your family and friends

Devoncare,s highly experienced team will conduct an assessment in conjunction with the client, their family and relevant professionals, such as doctors, with knowledge of the client,s history to better understand their needs. We will then agree a care plan. The team responsible for looking after the client would then be introduced to the client and family.

We place great emphasis on compatibility, therefore we never impose a carer on a client. We work very hard to ensure the team providing the care is happy working with the client and there family and the reverse is also the case.
End Of Life Care

End Of Life Care

End of life care is similar in many ways to Palliative care. The main difference is this is providing support, care and treatment for people nearing the end of life. We aim to provide help, assistance and support to both the client and there family to ensure the clients needs are met and family and friends know what to expect and are prepared. We can also get involved in directing the family to other support agencies, such as available financial support.

Our first priority as always is to the client, making their life is as comfortable as possible by discussing their needs and trying to accommodate them.

Devoncare has access to a range of services , that could benefit the client and family in making arrangements.
Care Packages

Care Packages

Home care is funded in three principal ways:-

NHS Funding
Local authority funding
Personal funding

NHS Funding
NHS Continuing Healthcare is committed to provide funding for home care for patients requiring on going care due to disability, major illness, accident or they have a complex medical need. This type of funding is Not means tested.

Local Authority Funding
This is means tested and subject to certain conditions regarding savings and assets. In the UK the limit is £23.250 in Wales £24.000. It is still worth talking to your Local Authority about other assistance and services that might be available to you following their assessment.

Self Funding
As the name implies, you personally fund the care needed because you either do not meet the criteria as shown above or your circumstances are not deemed eligible following assessment.

Devoncare is on hand to help you through this process. Call us and we will help to guide you through the process.

About us

Founded in 2014, 4ME&U Ltd T/A Devoncare initially provided temporary Nurses and Health Care workers to Devon and Cornwall care homes. Ghizela Adam (Bobi) and two colleagues founded the agency.

Having worked in the NHS and Private sector, mostly as a district nurse and in care homes, Ghizela is a qualified Registered General Nurse (RGN). Medical and Surgical Care, Private Nursing Homes, and Community Care are among her areas of expertise.

Since Devoncare's inception, it has evolved. Devoncare gained its Care Quality Commission (CQC) accreditation in December 2020. As a result, the business changed its focus from a temporary staffing agency to a care provider. In the region, the company has secured contracts with Devon and Cornwall Councils to provide Personal Care services.

A variety of complex and specialized services are provided by Devoncare to vulnerable adults. Most care is one-on-one, and includes Dementia, Palliative, Complex, Specialist, and Live-in care. Home care or other accommodation deemed appropriate by the council may be provided for the client. Devoncare is managed by Ghizela.
