Consultation & Design

AES can provide full department design services for all educational establishments. We have over 18 years’ consultation experience with teachers, business managers, local authorities and main contractors in the design of full CDT departments.
Our process is unique, we work closely with the end user, architects, main contractors and local authority to make sure your department design meets the requirements of the curriculum and needs for all staff and students.

Installation & Commissioning

With all projects, we have our dedicated project management and installation team. Our projects department carry out full fit-outs of multiple room departments throughout the UK and work to provide our clients with completed departments on-time and in full.

Machinery Maintenance & Servicing

At AES we pride ourselves on our aftercare. Our dedicated service and maintenance team are committed to providing our clients with the highest level of support within our contracts.

LEV Testing

The COSHH regulations 2002 state that all Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) systems require to be maintained in an efficient state, in good repair, and tested at least every 14 months. In education, this means that, in addition to having your LEV systems tested, you must ensure that you have procedures in place to carry out regular maintenance checks and that these are documented.

Downdraught Benches

Downdraught benches are the ideal solution for welding small to medium-sized workpieces at a fixed location. These benches can connected to a centralised extraction system with fixed ducting, or can be configured as a recirculating solution with castor wheels and filtration suitable for the contaminant type.
AES work closely with a number of downdraught bench manufacturers to provide solutions for all workshops and fabricators.

High Volume / Low Vacuum Systems

Centralised systems are an economical and flexible solution for any size of workshop as extraction arms can be sized and positioned to cover large working areas. AES can design and install systems that are suitable for all sizes of workshop and for a range of operators.
The flexibility of a central system allows you to connect a varied amount of extraction attachments to the system including extraction arms and downdraft benches.

High Vacuum Systems

These systems provide effective extraction for on-torch welding, high-vacuum arms, nozzles and also workplace clean-up kits. Available as a centralised fixed ducted system, or included in a portable solution for a single operator up to 4 welders connected to the same unit.

Portable Extractors

Mobile and portable extraction systems can be the ideal solution for small workshops and occasional/light welding. We work with a number of suppliers such as Nederman, ESTA, Translas, Dustcontrol and GEF who specialise in the design of portable solutions for the extraction of welding fume.

Ambient Air Purifiers

As a compliment to LEV, air towers can be installed to help improve workshop air quality without the need to exhaust to atmosphere thus providing an energy efficient solution.

Compact Wood Dust Filter Systems

Ideal for small to medium sized wood finishing processes with hand-held tools.

Centralised Clean-Up & On-Tool Extraction

The most effective way to capture wood dust from power tools is with an extraction attachment connected to the tool itself.

Stone Dust Extraction Booths

A product exclusive to AES within the UK, our stone dust extraction booth provides a complete safety solution for operators working with stone, concrete, marble, slate and many other materials for processes such as cutting, grinding and sanding.

Centralised Fixed Ducted Systems

Working with institutions and businesses in both education and industry, AES have provided solutions for stone masonry workshops throughout the UK. AES can supply extraction units from a variety of suppliers to suit your application and number of operators. These can include fixed ducted systems with traditional extraction arms providing source extraction from a workbench, or high-vacuum extraction utilising plug-in points for on-tool extraction and general workshop cleaning.

Portable Extraction Units

Where a fixed installation is not suitable or possible, or if there are minimal operators working on stone materials, portable systems can be the ideal choice. AES can supply a range of extractors from Dustcontrol, Nederman, ESTA, GEF & many more designed specifically to control stone/silica dust.

Air Purifiers

Ambient air purifiers can be used as a supplementary addition to LEV to provide filtration for the ambient air within a workspace.
These units have been promoted by BOHS & the Breathe Freely Campaign for construction on how they can reduce residual dust in the airspace of a new installation or domestic environment, providing a cleaner working atmosphere and reducing the requirement for additional clean-up at the end of a job.

The Aircube Range

The DC Aircube range has been developed for ease of use and durability.
With a capacity of up to 1800 m³/h (Aircube 2000), the DC Aircube is one of the most powerful air cleaners available on the market. Its ergonomic design, robust stainless-steel chassis and encapsulated fan with variable speed setting mean that the unit can be run economically.

The E-Pure ASPRA Range

The E-Pure ASPRA purifiers extract bio-aerosols from the air and guide them to the filter. Once inside, biological pathogens get positively ionized by an electric field, which causes them to be positively charged. Pathogens are deactivated and captured in a collection chamber, to prevent them from spreading any further. The cleaned air is then recirculated into the working environment.

Dust & Fume Extraction

AES offers a full LEV system design service. All of our design engineers are qualified to the BOHS accredited P602 standard in Local Exhaust Ventilation design.
Following your initial enquiry, one of our experienced team will carry out a site visit and provide you with advice including a range of options available to meet your needs and budget. Our in-house design team will provide an AutoCAD design for your approval before the installation commences. Following the installation, we will commission the system in accordance with HSG 258 and provide a user manual and logbook.
