Heaters for Caustic Solutions

Heaters for Caustic Solutions

We manufacture a range of heaters specifically for caustic solutions.

The material used for all wet / heated parts is 316L Stainless Steel. This is generally impervious to corrosion in normal use.

Heater shown is our Z type flanged unit with one removable element plus Control and Safety (Manual Reset) Thermostats. Typical ratings are between 3 and 6 KW. The X type heater has multiple elements suitable for heavy duties up to 100kW.

The standard range of Electric Heaters are only suitable for horizontal mounting. If vertical mounting is required a special version of the heater is mandatory. The oil outlet connection may normally be located on the left or right hand side of the heater body (when viewed from the terminal box) and this connection is screwed BSP or flanged.

The oil return connection is similarly screwed BSPor flanged and is normally located on the opposite side of the body tube. A drain connection is provided when requested.

Adequate withdrawal space must be provided for both horizontal and vertically mounted heaters to enable the heating element cores and heating battery removal. The withdrawal distance is given on the drawing. The bolt-to-tank models are supplied with an oil joint.

GOST Flameproof EX / ATEX. We offer a full range of ATEX approved Immersion, Outflow and In-Line heaters.

A K Waugh specify, source and supply a range of ATEX (ATmospheres EXplosibles) certified heating equipment, including trace, immersion, outlet and in-line heaters for use with oil, chemical and alcohol heater systems. Accessories which can be provided include control panels, thermostats, valves etc., as required.

Terms such as “Ex”, Ex’d'”, “Flameproof” or “Explosion proof” are commonly used ways also used to describe the relevant equipment, as well as for example : HAZLOC (USA Standard) GOST (Russian Standard), IEC Ex (most of ROW)
