Berker Sockets & Switches

We are the UK distributor and agent for the Berker Integro range of socket outlets and switch systems. These Berker sockets and switches are ideally suited to applications where space is a premium such as the caravan, motor home and boating industries, kitchen, bathroom, laboratory, healthcare, PAT testing and office equipment markets.

Switches

We offer an extensive range of switch products including rocker, push button, anti-vandal, float, slide, rotary and tactile switches. Alan Butcher Components is the official UK distributor for the Molveno switch brand, manufactured by Everel in Italy. In addition, we offer switch accessories such as splash proof caps for rocker and push button switches and coloured caps, lamps and lenses for pushbuttons. Our products can be found in a wide variety of applications including domestic appliances, security products, medical applications, cleaning devices, pumps, printers and pet care products.

Buzzers & Sounders

Alan Butcher Components has a huge range of Piezo Buzzers and Sounders to suit applications requiring an alarm or audio signal. Electret Microphones

Our electret microphones are available sized 3mm, 4mm, 6mm and 9.7mm with PCB pins, solder pads or leads. We can supply omni-directional, uni-directional and noise cancelling electret condenser microphones. Data sheets can be downloaded from the product pages on our website.

Typical applications for electret condenser microphones include PDAs, recording devices, computers, telephones, hearing aids and security entry panels. These component microphones are widely used for audio recording, voice recognition and audio sensing products.

IEC Connectors

Our mains rated inlet sockets conform to IEC and EN60320 specifications with ENEC, UL and CSA approval. We can supply appliance inlet sockets suitable for cold conditions C14 T70° and warm conditions C16 T120°. We supply IEC connectors manufactured by Everel, Italy. Typical applications include power tools, office equipment, heating/air conditioning products, medical equipment, coffee machines and power distribution panels.

Reed Switches & Sensors

Alan Butcher Components supplies reed switches and sensors manufactured by PIC GmbH, Germany. Reed switches and sensors offer a highly economic, non-touch switching solution. Because they are hermetically sealed, these products are particularly suitable for harsh environments. They are widely used within every day applications, such as washing machine door lock controls, window and door security systems, medical products and speedometers.

Signal Lamps & Indicator Lights

We supply panel mount indicator lights and signal lamps. Fitted with LED, Neon or Flourescent Lamps, our indicator lights are designed to complement our rocker and push button switches. IP67 and vandal resistant versions are also available. Our signal lamps are used within domestic appliances, cleaning products, control panels, HVAC equipment and vending machines.

Miniature Speakers

Alan Butcher Components specialise in high quality miniature speakers. Our speakers range from 20mm up to 70mm in diameter, 4ohm, 8ohm, 32ohm, 64ohm and 150ohm. Our products include mylar, paper cone and miniature flat speakers. We also supply encased, mylar speakers with PCB pins and speakers fitted with leads and connectors. Applications include headsets, access and security products, lift panels, parking metres, medical products, PDAs and computers.

Mains Power Cord Sets

Our high quality cord sets are designed to meet individual customer requirements and are fully approved for worldwide use including, Argentina, Australia, Brazil, China, Denmark, all European countries, India, Israel, Switzerland, USA and UK. Various IEC connector styles are available along with plug and termination options. Cables are customised by conductor size, length, diameter and material to suit various applications and environment.

Slide Switches

We supply the Molveno brand of LF series slide switches manufactured by Everel in Italy. The LF series is available in 2, 3 and 4 positions and rated at 8A/250VAC. These are robust, competitively priced switches and typical applications include cooker hoods, hairdryers, showers, heating and ventilation controls. The LF switches are ENEC and UL approved and heat and fire resistant to GWFI 850°C and GWIT 750°C.

Splash Proof Switches

We supply splash proof rocker switches and splash proof push button switches with IP54 and IP65 ratings. Typical applications include outdoor electrical equipment, pumps, high pressure cleaners, steam cleaners, industrial machines and cutters. The Molveno IP65 RMASK and B4MASK series switches have a rubber seal to protect the internal switch mechanisms. The SXA4 series is a twin push button switch designed with a gasket to help protect against water ingress to IP54.

Many of our standard push button and rocker switches can be fitted with splash proof caps and bezels to provide an IP65 splash proof rating.

Switch Accessories

Alan Butcher Components supplies a wide range of switch accessories for our switch products. We stock coloured caps which snap fit on to the SP60 series push button switches. The caps are available in red, green, orange, yellow, white and black. Splash proof caps can be fitted to our push button and rocker switches. These caps snap-fit on to the switch and provide protection up to IP65. They fit switches with the following cut-outs: 13x19mm, 11x30mm, 22x30mm, Ø16mm, Ø20mm and Ø25mm.

The Deca Switchlab range of push buttons and pilot lights are available with various lamp and lens options. We can supply incandescent, neon or LED lamps in a range of voltages. The lenses are round, rectangular or square in red, green, blue, orange, white or yellow.

Piezo Elements

Piezo elements consist of a piezoelectric ceramic mounted on to a bare metal disc. When an AC voltage is applied across the electrodes of the piezo electric ceramic, it expands and contracts at the frequency applied causing the element to bend, producing sound waves.

Design engineers can use piezo elements within their own housing and enclosure designs. They offer a low cost solution for generating good sound output and also consume minimal power.

Berker Frames

The Berker Frames offer three different, modern design variations − Integro Flow, Classic and Pure. They are available in a variety of colours − anthracite, white, black, brown, grey, red, green, orange, chrome and stainless steel and a variety of surfaces − matt, glossy, lacquered and galvanised.

These frames snap fit on to the Berker sockets and switches as part of the Berker modular product concept. The Berker frames are available in 1, 2 and 3 gang versions and are suitable for horizontal or vertical mounting. The 1 gang frames can be supplied with a hinged cover and seal to offer IP44 protection. Frames may be customised with labelling fields if required.

Berker Switches

Alan Butcher Components is the official UK distributor for the Integro range of Berker Switches. The Berker switch system is an integral part of the Berker modular product concept. Combining a Berker switch with a Berker frame ensures design continuity and standardisation for a wide variety of applications.

We supply rocker switches, push button switches and twin switches. Switch functions include on-off, momentary, changeover, and reverse polarity. The Berker switches can be supplied with standard imprints ie step, awnings, arrows or printing can be customised if required. Switches with a red dot LED are available in 12V or 250V.

Applications include caravans, motor homes, boats, kitchens, laboratories and office furniture.

Capacitive Touch Switches

Capacitive touch switches are a popular design choice for modern applications. They are robust, durable and aesthetically pleasing. Applications include domestic appliances, vending machines, industrial controls, infotainment centers and medical and food products. Our touch switches are an extension to our anti-vandal switch range and are also known as capacitive vandal resistant switches.

Float Switches

A float switch detects liquid levels within an application. They are also known as level sensors. They are widely used to activate alarms, pumps, control devices and as an indicator of the liquid level.

Rocker Switches

The rocker switch is one of the most common forms of switches. Its name is derived from the see saw action of the rocker − when one side of the switch is pressed, the other side raises. They are used to turn the power on and off devices and applications which are operated by electricity. There are many variations including size, contact form, voltage, illumination, number of poles and throws etc.

Rotary Switches

As the UK distributor for the Molveno brand of switches, Alan Butcher Components supplies the R1 series of rotary switches. Typical applications include fan heaters, small ovens, cleaners, air conditioning units and dehumidifiers.

Splash Proof Switches

We supply splash proof rocker switches and splash proof push button switches with IP54 and IP65 ratings. Typical applications include outdoor electrical equipment, pumps, high pressure cleaners, steam cleaners, industrial machines and cutters. Berker Wall Boxes

To support the Integro range of sockets and switch systems, Berker offers a variety of wall boxes / contact protection boxes. These are available in 1, 2 or 3 gang with a variety of diameters and insertion depths. The Berker wall boxes are flame resistant according to VDE 0606-1 and can be supplied with or without strain relief.
