First Aid & Defibrillator Courses

We have been providers of First Aid at Work since 1991 and Defibrillation Training since 2003. Our first aid instructors are fully qualified full time Albacare employees and passionate about delivering the best quality training to our customers. All of our instructors have been delivering training for a number of years. Albacare are so passionate about helping save lives we are also involved with our local Scottish Ambulance Service Community First Responders. Every Albacare trainer has been involved in cardiac arrests and have used defibrillators.

Courses Include:

• 3 Day First Aid at Work
• 2 Day First Aid at Work Requalification Course
• 1 Day Emergency First Aid
• Paediatric First Aid
• CPR and Defibrillation training
• 2 Day SYFA (Scottish Youth Football Association)
• Additional adjuncts we teach are medical gases (oxygen and entonox), Anaphylaxis and much more.

Fire Awareness & Fire Marshal/Warden

As a company focused on Health, Safety and welfare of our working customers and partners we have been delivering a Health and Safety focused Fire Warden/Marshal training course. Delegates are trained using real fire extinguishers and real fire. Our portable custom built fire training rig enables courses to be carried at either your location or ours. Our fire training simulator can be adapted to suit the types of fires that could occur in your working environment.

Courses Include:

• 2.5 hour Fire Awareness Training course
• 3.5 hour Fire Warden/Marshal Training course

Audiometry & Spirometry Training

BSA Approved Industrial Audiometry

Aim of the Audiometry Training course:

• To give you the knowledge to carry out audiometry screening and to evaluate and categorise results.
• To introduce you to the principles of hearing conservation in and industrial environment.
• To provide you with an overview of the Control of Noise at Work Regulations 2005.

Audiometry Training Courses are held in Bathgate, Bolton (near Manchester) and Belfast.

The duration of the course is 3 full days.

You will get a certificate of competence when the practical and written assessment are successfully completed.

Spirometry at Work Course

We will provide you with the knowledge to carry out lung function screening and evaluate the results.

We will introduce you to the principles of prevention/early detection of Occupational Lung Disease.

Spirometry Training courses are held in Bathgate, Bolton (Near Manchester) and Belfast.

Duration is 2 full days.

You will receive a certificate of competence on successful completion of the practical and written assessment that will take place on day 2.

 Provision Defibrillator

Buying a defibrillator is one of the best things that any organisation can do.

When someone has a cardiac arrest there is an average of 3-5% chance of survival (across the whole of Europe about 6% in the UK).

There are 2 things That Can Make a Difference:

• High Quality Minimally Interrupted Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
• Early Defibrillation

So if you can get someone doing CPR and get the casualty defibrillated then what is the chance of survival?

It could be as much as 74% (given the casualty having been in Cardiac Arrest for 3 minutes. You could be looking at a higher chance of survival if the casualty is defibrillated earlier)

The estimation is that the chances of surviving can drop by as much as 10-14% per minute.

The difference between surviving and not is Early CPR & Early Defibrillation followed by Early Hospital Care.
