Green Options

Green Options

With the demand for energy efficiency embracing everything that uses power, Apex Lifts can help with advice and offer a range of products and solutions to assist customers with lift energy usage.

Green lift solutions can be as simple as the installation of LED lighting. We can also install systems that automatically power down the lift and its lighting when left for long periods.

As part of a lift controller upgrade or new installation, we can install a regenerative lift drive system. Regenerative drive systems capture the gravitational power generated by lifts when they are moving downwards, and convert it into reusable energy for the building, rather than wasting it. Regenerative drive systems are available for both hydraulic and traction systems.
Improving Performance

Improving Performance

Although a lift or escalator can be well maintained and safe in operation, as technology advances, older equipment is likely to be less energy efficient and slower to respond to passenger requests.

As well as age, poor performance can also be attributed to usage, typically in situations where a lift has been previously installed and specified for a building with low occupancy levels, but now has an entirely different passenger flow profile for example due to a change in ownership.

Typical of the performance upgrades that Apex Lifts undertake are:

Lift control systems
Lift motors and drive systems
Car and landing signalisation
Lift entrance and car door operators

If lift or escalator performance is something that concerns you, or you simply want to know how a performance upgrade can improve the energy efficiency of your lift or escalator, we can initially provide advice and budgetary indications. We can then undertake a site visit to establish the correct performance that is right for your lift or escalator, and the projected or actual duty that is required.
Manufacturing

Manufacturing

Apex Lifts offers a full lift manufacturing service, from concept to completion. From our in-house manufacturing facilities in Sidcup, South East London, we provide a 24/7 service, producing a bespoke range of lift cars, complete landing entrances, doors, slings and safety gears. You're welcome to come down to our factory in Sidcup to see how your lift project is progressing, to have a consultation, or just to receive some free advice.

Our construction team will work closely with you from design through to handover, encouraging your involvement at every phase, so you can be sure all lift components are made to suit your needs.

In addition to the production of CAD/CAM drawings, we can provide 3D visuals to bridge the gap between you and our design team, resolving any design issues at an early stage and ensuring you select the right lift finishes.
Escalators

Escalators

We’ve made our name in the lift industry, however Apex Lifts also maintain, repair and service escalators for commercial, industrial and public transportation sites.

All escalators are an essential function for building users, if they are not running as they should this can impact your day-to-day operations. We understand how important it is for you and your business to keep running smoothly at all times and so we offer a range of servicing, maintenance and reactive repair contracts to suit your escalator requirements.

Keeping on top of regular escalator servicing and maintenance will help avoid break downs and reduce any delays involving major repairs by highlighting any issues before they become a major problem. Our dedicated, experienced and cross-skilled Escalator Engineer undertakes maintenance and repairs to the highest standard and within quality assurance, statutory compliance and industry standard parameters.

In addition to delivering a first-fix approach, we pride ourselves on meeting the highest safety standards and have been awarded a number of health and safety accreditations.

Passenger Lifts

Passenger Lifts

With an ever-increasing number of low, medium and high-rise residential and commercial buildings being built, the demand for new high-quality passenger lifts has never been greater. This demand, and the need to replace or modernise older passenger lifts, along with advancing technology, has brought a significantly increased choice of passenger lift solutions to the market.
Goods & Service Lifts

Goods & Service Lifts

Goods and Service lifts come in a variety of sizes and carrying capacities, however they all have one thing in common and that is to assist with the movement of heavy goods, bulky items and food between a building’s floors.
Scenic Lifts

Scenic Lifts

Scenic lifts provide a striking and attractive way to integrate vertical transportation into a building’s design. Whether it’s a new build or an existing building, a scenic lift working as single unit or in a group will become the focal point of an entrance, atrium, or external feature.
Vehicle Lifts

Vehicle Lifts

In essence, most vehicle lifts for cars are based around a goods lift specification but with an extra payload and lift car width. Invariably lift travel covers only three floors, that being ground to basement levels, making them ideal for hydraulic power.
Traction/MRL

Traction/MRL

Many of the UK’s buildings constructed over twenty years ago would have had either traditional traction (DC/AC) motors or hydraulic systems installed to move a lift car. For those lifts, using traction motors each building needed a motor room above the lift shaft. Today with a wider choice of motor and hydraulic systems, there remain millions of buildings in the UK that have retained a motor room, or need one, due to the speed and duty requirements of the lift motor/s.
Hydraulic Lifts

Hydraulic Lifts

Over the past years, there has been a resurgence in the use of hydraulic lifts to convey passengers. This has come about due to the evolving hydraulic lift technology which has brought energy efficiency in and significantly improved reliability. Today’s inverter-powered driven drives, many of which are regenerative, provide customers with a highly reliable lift which is ideal for installation in residential or low- to medium-passenger traffic environments.
Fire Fighting Lifts

Fire Fighting Lifts

Typically, lifts are not used in the event of a fire. However, there are certain types of passenger lifts that are designed for the fire and rescue service to aid in emergency situations.
