Apollo Plastics focuses on their customers’ requirements, taking their ideas and bringing them to life. We focus on aesthetics, functionality and the ability to manufacture parts cost effectively and to specification. Whether you have a basic idea or are seeking an alternative manufacturer for an item already in production, we will work with you to ensure cost effectiveness and that it is totally fit for purpose. The design team can talk through your ideas, offer technical advice and produce a low cost prototype.

Our team will discuss a wide variety of design cues to commence the process from a discussion or a simple line drawing, a wooden pattern for prototypes through to a finished production tool.

Apollo Plastics pay close attention to detail during the design phase which promotes a reliable high quality final product and a smooth production process. We have the creativity, the knowledge, experience, and the commercial sensitivity to be a strong partner for all aspects of your new product development.

Tooling & Materials

At Apollo Plastics we are happy to advise on different tooling materials to meet the desired volume, budget and desired lifespan of the part.

Depending on the application and structural properties required we can manufacture in a range of materials, including ABS, HIPS, HDPE, and more. Production tooling includes vacuum and pressure forming, CNC trim fixtures with suction clamping. We can also process specialist moulding materials such as chemical resistant, flame retardant, antibacterial and high strength plastics.

Apollo Plastics have the capacity and experience to offer low, medium and high volume batch production, along with very large-format assemblies that meet your requirements. In addition we can further give support to your production with additional assembly opportunities. Plastic vacuum forming offers a cost-effective alternative to injection moulding, which often involves a significant investment in tooling.

Over 60 years expertise in vacuum forming plastic helps particularly when it comes to material selection and manufacturing, this means that we are able incorporate a diverse range of processes and products. Our stock is 95% recyclable. We have bespoke services ie. cut to size, colours and materials.

As a manufacturing process, vacuum forming or thermoforming involves heating a plastic sheet to a defined temperature, inserting the tool into the heated sheet, and then compressing the tool and sheet together with a vacuum and compressed air to form a three-dimensional moulded shape.

The benefits of vacuum forming are numerous:
  • Lower tooling costs - low to medium volume vacuum forming projects are more cost effective than injection moulding
  • The choice of colour, finish, and material is wide and flexible
