NTC Thermistors
ATC Semitec NTC thermistors are highly sensitive thermal resistors that respond very quickly to rapid temperature change. They have a high T.C.R. (Temperature Co-efficent of Resistance) which means the change of resistance per degree Celsius is also very high, making them very easy to incorporate in electronic circuitry. Thus thermistors are often the temperature sensor of choice for numerous appliance, telecoms and automotive applications.
Many of our thermistor designs have become industry benchmarks with 1% resistance tolerances or better as standard - our AP and SP series thermistors offer interchangeable, R-T curve matched temperature accuracy from 0~70°C or wider. Fast-response ET epoxy bead NTCs, glass bead NT thermistors and flexible film JT series NTC thermistors offer quick yet accurate temperature sensing in heat detector, calorimeter and medical applications.
For surface mount applications, our SMD KT series NTC chips and thin-film FT thermistors offer miniature sensor control options with package sizes down to 0402 or even smaller. These very small sizes ensure a very fast response to temperature change hence facilitating their use in miniature medical temperature sensors, room thermostats and numerous other applications.

SMD PTC''s as Thermal Switches
The TPM series of SMD PTC thermistors are frequently used as thermal switches in electronic circuits. Their small size (0402, 0603 or 0805) and step change RT curve (at the trip point) makes these solid-state temperature switches ideal for small spaces and simple to incorporate electronically. Temperature switch points from 65°C to 135°C are available with several R25 (resistance at 25°C) values to suit varying circuit conditions.
Boiler Temperature Probes
For gas boiler temperature control, a very fast thermal response is usually required. This is to ensure accurate temperature control of the hot water to help provide sufficient quantities, maximise boiler efficiency and also avoid the possibility of scalding.
We have a number of immersion and clip-on temperature sensors where the NTC thermistor is situated in the very tip of the sensor. This reduces the thermal path to the thermistor and thus minimises the response time.
Screw threaded boss designs, surface sensor fixings for pipes and simple push-fit/clip-in versions are all available with industry standard connector options or flying leads if preferred.

Precision Matsuo Thermostats
Matsuo precision bimetal thermostats have a unique internal structure that offers a combination of tolerance, differential and repeatability that is un-paralleled in the industry. The twin bimetal system minimises calibration drift and ensures a long contact life from 100k - 1m cycles depending on applied load. They offer excellent thermal protection and are ideal as anti-condensation thermostats, anti-freeze controls or frost protectiion thermostats especially in remote applications which demand long-term stability and maximum service life.
Matsuo thermostats are precision calibrated and then sealed within a PBT plastic housing giving excellent environmental resistance.
Calibrations from -10°C to +110°C are available with setting tolerances down to ±1.5K and differentials (hysteresis) down to 3K. AC loads up to 3A(250V) or 5A(125V) and DC loads up to 1.3A/24V or 0.8A/48V can be switched.

Where p.c.b. land area is limited, a single robust Semitec CRD can replace multiple components in space-critical applications. This simplifies product assembly and minimises component count and cost.
Semitec CRDs are constant current diodes and offer protection, stability and control when driving LED, optocoupler & battery-charging circuits.
With a choice of either axial leads or surface mount package styles, our CRDs will help to simplify your circuit design.
The S-series surface-mount range offers constant current values from 0.1mA to 18mA, the latest addition being a 22mA rated S-223T.

SeMitec’s Fmicro miniature thermistor sensor has been designed primarily for use in medical applications.
Utilising thin-film technology combined with laser-trimming techniques, the Fmicro thermistor sensor is only 0.5mm diameter by 2.3mm long. It is designed around one of our smallest FT series thermistors, encapsulated in a polyimide tube and fitted with 38AWG insulated leads.
The Fmicro is accurate to ±0.2K at 37°C and is small enough to be incorporated within a catheter probe for internal body temperature measurement. Operating temperature range is -10/+70°C.
