Vertical Storage Lift
A vertical storage lift module (VLM) is an automated storage and retrieval unit consisting of an extractor mechanism, located between two sections of stationary racking, inside a metal enclosure. A series of trays inserted in the front and rear racks are used to store product. When activated, the extractor device brings a requested tray or items from the rack to an ergonomically positioned workstation.
Automated storage systems, including vertical storage carousels, enable a large inventory to be directed to a picker at one fixed location. By eliminating the climbing, reaching, and bending necessary to pick from multiple levels, vertical storage systems produce a more efficient “parts to picker” instead of “picker to parts” workflow−increasing worker safety and productivity.

Spazio MultiBay VLM
The Spazio range of MultiBay lifts are a vertical lift module system (VLM), that utilises a central elevator with extractor spanning the full width of the machine, that moves both vertically and horizontally. With a traditional single VLM, there is one set of controls and one vertical bay of trays that makes up the machine. With the Spazio MultiBay lifts, there are up to 7 bays of trays controlled by a single set of controls. The MultiBay concept provides a highly dense storage capacity and is a very cost effective compared to multiple singular lift modules.

A vertical storage Carousel is a compact storage and retrieval unit (ASRS) consisting of a continuous series of shelves, known as carriers, that are used to store product. When activated, the machine ‘rotates’ and the requested carrier level is presented, via the quickest route; to an ergonomically positioned workstation.

Office Carousels
At the touch of a button or better still, at the flash of a bar-code, the selected shelf is positioned in front of the operator and a light indicates the location of your desired record, making file retrieval more efficient (with access to records in a matter of seconds).
Filing Carousels can fully utilise the room height ensuring a maximum capacity and minimal footprint when storing your documents. Space savings of up to 80% can be achieved when compared to conventional storage systems.

Rotary Filing
The ROTARY filing system offers two bays of shelving in one high capacity and simple to use cabinet. Stylish in appearance, the Rotary system can be considered as a single unit or a full run of units creating a storage wall or room divider that can (if required) be accessed from either side.

The ROTARY System is a double-sided revolving cabinet, a quarter turn push or pull in either direction gives access to the entire shelving space; another quarter turn provides fast closing.

Relocations
Autoscan specialise in the relocation of vertical storage carousels and vertical storage lifts throughout the UK.
We offer a complete relocation service, should you be relocating your carousel or VLM on the same site, or to a completely new site, we hire in all the necessary lifting and access equipment at both sites, arrange the transportation, load, deliver and unload the machinery, and then reinstall and rigorously test it.
In keeping with best engineering practices, we use all new fixings when relocating your machinery as standard, this helps ensure your carousel or VLM is working at it’s best after it has been relocated.
We offer a complete relocation service, should you be relocating your carousel or VLM on the same site, or to a completely new site, we hire in all the necessary lifting and access equipment at both sites, arrange the transportation, load, deliver and unload the machinery, and then reinstall and rigorously test it.

Safety Curtain Upgrades
The safety systems on most older carousels are comprised of top and bottom photocells and safety tripbar.
We can upgrade your old carousel to the latest safety standards by retrofitting a Sick MiniTwin 4 Light Curtain System. This means that should an operator put their hand near the machine whilst in motion, it will stop immediately and ensure their safety.
We can install these on Kardex, Linpic, Megamat and Electrolcass carousels.
