EC FanGrid

EC FanGrid

An ECFanGrid is a multiple fan array designed to improve reliability, flexibility and efficiency in new or existing ventilation systems. Axair Fans work with your company in a consultation role to decide the best posssible Air Handling Unit airflow requirements to deliver an efficient and effective solution using EC plug fan technology.
Axial Fans

Axial Fans

External rotor motor

Design
Fixed blades impeller, designed to handle large volumes of air against low resistance to flow. Impeller are designed for maximum efficiency and low noise operation, Blade design include sickle or profiled.

These axial fans are powered by external rotor motor, speed controllable by frequency or voltage. Impeller are fitted directly onto the motor for maximum efficiency and low-profile compact assembly.

Available with flat guard, basket guard, square or circular wall plate or circular spigotted flanges.

Application
Building ventilation, portable cooling fans or ‘man coolers’, heat exchangers, refrigeration coils, solarium equipment, electronic enclosures, condenser or evaporator cooling, heating cooling and ventilating applications
High Pressure Centrifugal Fans

High Pressure Centrifugal Fans

High pressure fans have robust scroll housings and impellers in cast aluminium or fabricated steel. They are designed to overcome high resistance to air flow and therefore run at 2 pole or 3000/min. (synchronous) motor speed. Boiler induced and forced draught, process air filtration, ductwork of low cross sectional area and/or complex geometry, pressure test plant, induced-air materials handling equipment, vacuum printing tables.
Backward Curved Centrifugal Fans

Backward Curved Centrifugal Fans

Design
External rotor motors are usually contained within the depth of the fan impeller, thus saving the space normally occupied by a standard motor. They are located in the air stream, so temperature is limited, and are generally of protection class IP44, so the air needs to be clean and dry to avoid motor contamination.

Backward-curved motorised impellers develop pressure within the envelope of the impeller and do not therefore rely on a scroll housing for this purpose. They are of relatively low cost and can be simply and cheaply housed. Air is drawn through a radiussed inlet ring, which minimises pressure losses and air leakage, and is discharged at 90° to the inlet axis. The impeller has a 'non-overloading' characteristic in that it draws maximum power near the centre of its pressure/volume flow curve.
Low cost speed control is possible by supply voltage variation, either by electronic (triac) method or by transformer.

Application
Air filtration, fume control, electronic cabinet cooling, lamp cooling, solarium equipment, roof extract units, in-line duct fans, high pressure coils, air conditioning cassettes, refrigeration equipment.

Forward Curved Centrifugal Fans

Forward Curved Centrifugal Fans

Axair Fans offer a range of forward curved centrifugal fans, available with AC or EC motors and in a single or double inlet configuration. The range offers convenient speed control and a constant reliable airflow particularly in confined spaces. Due to a high number of blades on the impeller, high performance is achieved with low noise generation.

Many of the fans in the range have external rotor motors. These are usually contained within the width of the fan housing, thus saving the space normally occupied by a standard motor. They are located in the air stream, so temperature is limited, and are generally of protection class IP44, so the air needs to be clean and dry to avoid motor contamination.

ATEX Certified Fans

ATEX Certified Fans

Design
Since the ATEX Directive became enforceable in law, greater importance is now attached to defining the flameproof hazard. All decisions concerning specification of the correct fan type are now the responsibility of the end-user. The fan manufacturer must only supply product that is fully ATEX compliant i.e. the entire fan and motor assembly. We can supply fan suitable for hazardous atmospheres in zone 2 (Gas/Vapour) and 22 (Dust).

For more information see ATEX 94/9/EC.

Application
Any application in which there is potential for explosive gasses being present in the environment or in the air stream. Some common examples would be hydrogen fumes from battery charging areas, methane gas in water processing plant, process powders and petro-chemical plant.

External Rotor Motors

External Rotor Motors

Crossflow or Tangential fans are designed to provide a 'curtain' or 'laminar' air pattern to work against relatively low flow resistance. Air is picked-up across the full width of the impeller and flows tangentially through the housing in either 90° or 180° flow directions, to order. As the motor is out of the airstream the temperature of the transported air can be up to 60°C. The motor itself is of ball bearing external rotor construction and can be speed controlled by voltage variation alone.

Roof Mounted Extract Units

Roof Mounted Extract Units

In some situations it is better to extract warm air from the top of an enclosure than via fans mounted inside the door panels. This is often the case when the density of equipment within the cabinet is so high that there is no room available for ventilation fans. The new modern looking "TP" series provides the panel builder with a high performance and economic answer. It is constructed from high impact polycarbonate alloy with embossed finishing and aluminium top. This aluminium top helps better dissipate the heat generated by the motor and also from within the cabinet.
Both the current all metal "T" series and the new "TP" series provide an efficient solution based on higher pressure backward curved centrifugal motorized impeller rather competitor based axial fans. Backward curved centrifugal fans have the advantage of providing strong sustainable air flow, even when the equipment density is impeding the airflow and door mounted filter units are becoming dirty.
ATEX Axial Fans
