Eddy Current Separators

The Eddy Current Separator is used widely in the recycling industry to either recover or remove non-ferrous metals from non-metallic materials. Different designs enable the separation of small (down to 3mm) and large non-ferrous metals.
Bunting’s range of eddy current separators include both concentric and eccentric rotor designs that have evolved over a 30 years period of manufacture and supply. The range also includes laboratory-scale eddy current separators, examples of which are located in the UK Recycling Test Facility.

Electrostatic Separators

The revolutionary new electrostatic separator from Bunting provides the only known method of separating some important minerals and removing or recovering metals from certain recycled materials. Separation occurs by induced an electrostatic charge into a conductive dry-liberated particle. Electrostatic separators are commonly used in conjunction with high-intensity magnetic separators. The electrostatic technology is successfully used in the mineral processing, plastics and recycling industries, although there is a continual expansion in the application of the technology.

Belt Conveyor Metal Detectors

Belt Conveyor Metal Detectors are designed to detect and then reject any kind of metal from a belt conveyor system. The maintenance of these machines is simple and they are incredibly user-friendly when it comes to operation.

Food Metal Detectors

Food Metal Separators are designed to pick up, detect and then reject any kind of metal from a food processing or packaging line. Maintenance of these machines is simple and they are incredibly user-friendly when it comes to operation.

Free Fall Metal Detectors

Gravity free-fall style metal separators and metal detector are designed specifically to isolate and separate any contaminated material moving in the product flow. They do this as the metal detector automatically picks up all kinds of metals, both ferrous and non-ferrous from the product flow and it is all conducted without any interruption to the line process.

Pneumatic Metal Detectors

Pneumatic Style Metal Separators are designed to pick up (detect) and then reject any kind of metal from an enclosed pipe system. Maintenance of these machines is simple and they are incredibly user-friendly when it comes to operation.

Textile Metal Detectors

Textile Metal Separators are designed to pick up, detect and then reject any kind of metal from a textile system. These detectors are commonly used for film or web based applications. The profiLINE is a flat coil metal detector and is designed to keep the quality high in goods such as films and non-woven textiles. These detectors help to protect calendar rollers as well as remove needles from film.

Metal Cleaning Systems

Multiple combinations of magnetic and electronic separators can be used to meet your specific requirements. Cleaning Systems are designed for maximum protection against ferrous and nonferrous debris by combining magnetic and electronic separators. They are the perfect solution for purifying regrind and recycled goods in a plastics plant.

Forklift Stabilising Magnets

Forklift Stabilising Magnets are designed to retain sheet steel loads, holding them against the forks during lifting or transportation.
The magnet system is constructed from low carbon steel. The former wound copper magnet coil is fixed into the magnet system & encapsulated in resin to insulate, protect from impact and prevent movement.

Free Magnetic Separation Audits

Customers have frequently asked for it, so now Bunting is able to offer free audits on magnetic separation equipment. The audit includes:
Checking each magnet for magnetic strength
Checking the structural integrity of magnets
A location review
Checking the effectiveness of the cleaning regime
Fully trained and experienced Bunting engineers will conduct each audit. These engineers will have in depth knowledge of the relevant industries and applications as well the installation and manufacturing processes.

Magnetic Separator Repair & Refurbishment Service

Bunting offer a full repair and refurbishment service for all of their customers. Mechanical and electrical repairs are carried out at our UK site where we have a full range of processing equipment. We can offer an electromagnet coil rewinding or repair service that returns the magnet to an ‘as new’ condition.
Bunting understands that replacing machines that are no longer performing efficiently can be very costly and because of this, we feel that customers should be given the option to simply repair their existing machines, saving them a significant amount of money. Below there are some photos, which were taken of a previous Overband Separator that had been refurbished by Bunting for one of its customers.
Here are also some 'before and after' photos of a Fragmentiser Electro Drum that had been in operation for over 20 years. The Drum was sent to our Redditch facility for a complete refurbishment and is now back in operation at a steel recycling plant in Israel.
All magnetic separators that are sent in to us for refurbishment are fully restored and tested to ensure that they are working as well as brand new units.

Site Evaluation Services - Magnetic Separation

To give us more understanding of more complex or specialised applications, Bunting offer a free site evaluation service. This enables us to evaluate a client’s application so that we can recommend the most efficient form of magnetic separation for a particular application.
This also enables one of our company representatives to hold a personal meeting with a client, explaining face to face how our machinery will perform within an application. This service is free within the UK.

At Bunting we understand the importance of keeping your machines running smoothly and avoiding costly downtime.
With over 2000 genuine spares held in stock at our Redditch manufacturing facility, our customers can expect any of these parts to be sent out on a same day dispatch*.
We also maintain comprehensive records of all supplied machines, dating back over 30 years. Accompanying this with skilled and experienced sales engineers, our customers can have peace of mind in knowing that replacement parts will be to the exact same specification and to the high-quality standards as those originally supplied on the machine.
*Spare parts can be sent out on a same day dispatch if ordered before 12pm.
