Coppers Fire, located in their purpose built manufacturing plant in Havant, Hampshire, have developed a variety of fire and smoke safety products including the well known Gravity Fail Safe (GFS) Smoke and Fire curtain which was invented and patented by us. This curtain has become the benchmark for most smoke and fire safety systems worldwide.
Our horizontal and vertical fire curtains are based on an automatic barrier system that has a fire separating element. The fire curtains are made from fire resistant fabrics, tensioned between rollers that are mounted at either end of the void opening. The rollers itself are mounted and enclosed in a steel housing, with a supporting bar at the leading edge of the curtain which spans between the side channels retaining the curtain. Once fire is detected the fire curtain is activated from the fire detection system closing the opening. This combined reduces the risk of fire spreading to other rooms or areas on your premises.
Similar to the fire curtain, the smoke curtain, an automatic barrier system controls the movement of smoke in a building during a fire.
