Dust Extraction

Baghouse dust collectors have been the workhorse for industrial dust collection for many years, providing a full range of solutions from handling nuisance dusts up to extremely heavy dust loads, hazardous (ATEX) or toxic dusts, bin venting and product reclaim.

Conveyors & Silos

The wood waste collected by your extraction system (normally reduced through a shredder if necessary) is transported to a storage silo via a conveyor, ready to be fed into a biomass boiler or wood burner for safe and efficient removal, whilst also providing a valuable source of energy.

EDS will design, supply and install conveyors and silos of all sizes to suit customers’ individual needs, often as part of a completely integrated bespoke dust extraction and biomass boiler system, providing cost-effective heating for your premises.

Mobile & Portable Industrial High Vacuum Cleaning Units

EDS Systems are proud to be exclusive UK distributors for UniVac, the market-leading manufacturer of portable and mobile high vacuum industrial cleaners.

EDS can offer the complete range of high-performance units rated from 13 to 175kW, electrically powered or driven by an onboard diesel engine. Univac machines are designed to operate efficiently and reliably in high-demand applications such as quarrying, cement works, asphalt production, brickworks, steelworks, foundries and grain mills. Powerful continuous suction capability and advanced filtration design for effective filter cleaning, enable operators to collect large volumes of material at speed.

Portable units feature collection hoppers or skips with up to 1m3 capacity, and can be moved quickly and easily by forklift truck exactly to where they are needed on your site. A variety of discharge options are possible to suit each customer’s requirements eg into skip, bulk bag, or directly onto a conveyor.

Sanding Benches & Spray Booths

Downdraught benches − for sanding, welding, grinding

Your operator is able to work safely and freely, whilst dust and fumes are removed by drawing them down through the bench into the internal filters, returning clean air back to the workspace.

Galvanised Modular Ductwork

We stock and install high-quality ductwork systems.

These are made of fully galvanised sheets that are dimensionally accurate and smooth to fine tolerances. The components can either have a rolled or folded edge that is fitted with a clamp. The rolled edge clip has an inner gasket to ensure an airtight seal.

All of our Modular ductwork is strong and easy to assemble. It can also be used in conjunction with other ductwork systems. To assemble or modify this advanced galvanised ductwork system, no tools are required.

We also offer a comprehensive accessory line that includes everything you need, such as 30º branches, reducers, and energy-efficient dampers.

For installation work, we offer a site survey and consultancy services, where we come to your location to assess your specific requirements, then our design team will complete everything to produce a detailed quotation tailored to your specific project.

Stainless Steel Modular Ductwork

We can supply and install stainless steel modular ductwork systems in addition to galvanised ductwork.

We recommend this for use in humid and hot environments, as well as for the food industry.

Filter Media, Spares & Collection Bags

EDS carry stock of most extraction system filter spares for same-day despatch where possible, allowing us to assist you in keeping your system running at peak efficiency.

Antistatic Filter Bags − we specialise in supplying high quality, high efficiency filter bags at competitive prices. Available in 350gram or 550gram polyester for all makes of filter, supplied from stock in standard sizes or special sizes can be made-to-order.

Chains, cogs, flaps etc are all part of our extensive stock of spare parts for all types of extraction equipment.

Sliding Dampers

Sealed slide dampers are an essential part of an extraction system as they shut off the ductwork connecting to a machine to save energy when not in use or to facilitate maintenance.

We have a range of sizes and types available from stock at competitive prices to supply as replacement parts for all extraction systems.

Automatic (Motorised) Sliding Dampers

Automatically-sealed sliding dampers are used in the most advanced energy-saving extraction systems, working in conjunction with fan speed controls.

When a machine is turned off, the system control panel is triggered by a signal from the remote sensor to close an automated damper in the ductwork connected to that machine and fan speed is instantly reduced to an optimum level accordingly. This happens automatically in reverse when a machine is switched on.

PUR Flexible Ducting & Clips

We stock NORRES high-performance PUR flexible ducting and hose in a variety of specifications for dust and fume extraction. These market-leading industrial products, manufactured in Germany, provide enhanced performance features and safety benefits to the end user.

Medium PUR Ducting

Polyurethane flexible ducting with abrasion resistant 0.6mm wall. This versatile medium-weight ducting is highly flexible and compressible, making it suited to most general extraction applications. Antistatic and flame retardant polyurethane wall, with high tensile steel reinforcing wire helix.

Heavy PUR Ducting

This medium-heavy duty polyurethane ducting offers increased wall thickness and abrasion resistance, with a higher vacuum rating, suited to larger diameters. Antistatic and flame retardant polyurethane wall, with heavier-gauge steel reinforcing wire helix.

CNC Timberduc PUR

CNC saws place much greater stresses and demands on flexible extraction ducting when continually moving extended distances in x-y axis. This specialised polyurethane ducting utilises a unique construction which combines a high vacuum rating with increased flexibility and compressibility, thereby offering a proven economical solution for this demanding application.

Ducting Clips / Bridge Clamps

This range of clamps is designed specifically to suit every size of our PUR flexible ducting ranges perfectly. The bridge avoids compressing or damaging the wire helix, so clamping pressure is applied only on the flexible PUR wall requiring minimum torque to achieve a perfect seal. Made from stainless steel with a zinc-plated worm-drive screw.

Black EVA Antistatic Vac Hose & Cuffs

Lightweight crush-resistant vac hose, made from high-quality antistatic EVA, which is robust yet still highly flexible at temperatures between -25C to +65C. Suitable for use with industrial vacuum cleaners as well as central vacuum systems. Matching soft cuffs (nozzles) also available.

Reconditioned Parts & Machinery

At times, after we’ve installed new extraction systems we take the old machinery and parts and recondition them to high working order.
We occasionally have fans, filters, and sanding benches amongst other parts available at lower rates than new parts and machinery. The stock of reconditioned parts changes constantly so if you need new machinery but don’t have the funds to pay for a brand new one, ask what we’ve got available.

Control Panels

As well as the extraction systems and fundamental accessories, EDS Scotland supply and install professional and simple to use control panels for all machinery.

When installing control panels to your business, we are happy to walk through the workings of them with you, so you can rest assured that everything will be used correctly and safely.

Variable Speed Drives

The variable frequency drive (VFD) is the most effective motor controller in the industry today. Modern VDFs are affordable and reliable, have flexibility of control, and offer significant electrical savings through greatly reduced electric bills.

VFDs provide soft-start capabilities which decrease electrical stresses and line voltage sags which are associated with full voltage motor start-ups, especially when driving high-inertia loads. We recommend the variable speed drive to all customers as they provide the optimum performance in terms of extraction, operating cost and purchase cost.

LEV Testing & Report

In accordance with HSG258, Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) systems are required to undergo a “thorough examination and testing” at least once in every 14 months (more frequently in some special cases).

A qualified EDS engineer will undertake a full inspection and test of your extraction system
You will receive a comprehensive report confirming the general condition of your system, complete with the results of airflow and pressure testing
Any relevant comments, recommendations or required actions will also be specified
To ensure your continued compliance, we will also manage renewal dates and contact you when your next LEV inspection and test is due
All reports are archived for a minimum of 7 years as part of our customer care programme

Repairs & Modifications

If something does go wrong, we’re on hand to assist and it doesn’t matter if EDS wasn’t the original installer of the equipment on site.

Our engineers have extensive experience working with all types of extraction system and we can provide spares for all makes.

Equally, when the performance or efficiency of an extraction system is falling below expectations, modifications or upgrades can, in many cases, be recommended to rectify this.
