Coriolis Flow Meters
Coriolis flow meters are primarily designed to measure mass flow (kg/min, tonnes/hour etc.) with accuracy unaffected by changes in fluid density or flow profile. Offering a typical measurement accuracy in the order of 0.1% of reading over a 20:1 turndown, Coriolis flowmeters are available with MID (Custody Transfer) Approval as well as ATEX Hazardous Area Approvals. With the correct selection of tube material, the flowmeter can also work at elevated temperatures above 200 degrees C.

Electromagnetic Flow Meters
Also known as ‘Mag’ or even ‘Mag Flux’ flow meters, electromagnetic flow meters are manufactured in a wide range of sizes, from 2mm bore to over 3 metres in diameter. Manufacturing cost, and therefore selling prices, don’t drastically increase as the flowmeter size increases, making mag meters extremely cost-effective in the case of large bore installations.

Positive Displacement Flow Meters
To ensure high accuracy, the clearances inside the flow meter measuring chamber must be as fine as possible without causing excessive wear. This means that the metered liquids this flow meter can measure must be clean and free from suspended solids. In most cases, it is prudent to install a suitable liquid filter on the inlet side of the meter. Positive Displacement flow meters require no upstream/downstream straight pipe lengths so, if required, a filter can be directly bolted to the inlet port.

Smart Flow Meters
Utilising your favourite meters from brands such Endress + Hauser, amongst others, these meters are now equipped with modern communications for a new generation make programming, control and monitoring of your processes even easier.
For example, Endress + Hauser's latest offering Picomag comes with wireless remote access via its Bluetooth SmartBlue App, it also come supplied with IO-Link comms and various I/O's for all line-sizes.

Thermal Mass Flow Meters
Where the accuracy offered by Coriolis meters is not required, thermal mass flow meters will usually prove to be a suitable solution.

Turbine Flow Meters
Electromagnetic flow meters are more commonly used for water measurement. There are varieties of turbine flow meters that are even ideal to measure the dispense of drink or beer.
A free-spinning magnetic rotor spins as fluid passes and small voltage pulses are generated in a magnetic coil sensor mounted in the wall of the flowmeter body. The rotational speed of the rotor and the frequency of the generated voltage pulses are directly proportional to flow rate. Due to magnetic drag at low velocities, the turndown range of the turbine is usually limited to around 10:1.

Ultrasonic Flow Meters
As the fastest growing flow technology, Flowquip offer a wide range of Ultrasonic flow meters from leading manufacturers such as Katronic and GE Panametrics, this allows us to specify the best flow meter for your application.
All our Ultrasonic flowmeters use clamp on technology which negates the need to cut in to the pipework.

Variable Area Flow Meters
The height of the float is directly proportional to the flowrate. With liquids, the float is raised by a combination of the buoyancy of the liquid and the velocity head of the fluid. With gases, buoyancy is negligible, and the float responds to the velocity head alone.
The float moves up or down in the tube in proportion to the fluid flow rate and the annular area between the float and the tube wall. The float reaches a stable position in the tube when the upward force exerted by the flowing fluid equals the downward gravitational force exerted by the weight of the float.
A change in flowrate upsets this balance of forces. The float then moves up or down, changing the annular area until it again reaches a position where the forces are in equilibrium. To satisfy the force equation, the variable area flow meter float assumes a distinct position for every constant flowrate.

Energy Metering
If we talk about operational costs of compressed air plants we are actually talking about the energy costs as they make up about 70 to 80 % of the total costs of a compressed air plant.
Depending on the size of the plant this means considerable operating costs. Even in smaller plants this may quickly add up to 10,000 to 20,000 € per year. This is an amount which can be considerably reduced − even in the case of well operated and maintained plants.

Air Flow Meters

Chemical Flow Meters

Clamp On Flow Meters
All Flowquip’s clamp on flow meters are all non-invasive with sensors that clamp-on to the side of the pipe, this avoids the need to cut in to the pipe and interrupt the flow. One of our most popular Ultrasonic meters is the KATflow 200 which is a handheld clamp on flow meter, fully portable and light weight makes it ideal when working at height or in small spaces. Sensor sets are available for pipelines from 10mm to 3 metres diameter.

Fuel Flow Meters

Gas Flow Meters

Hygienic Flow Meters
Highly accurate they provide an economical solution for measuring flows of clean liquids.
Typical Applications for Hygienic Turbine Flow Meters include:
Measurement of milk products, oils and vinegars
Batch Control Solutions
Keg Filling
Ratio Blending
Tanker Loading
Accurate measurement of salines, medicines and fine chemicals

Low Flow Meters

Mass Flow Meters
Highly accurate with multi-variable flow sensors, Coriolis Mass Flow Meters a popular choice for liquid and gas measurement. Extremely versatile, they can have the flexibility to measure virtually all fluids including solvents, fuels vegetable oils, alcohol products, gases and liquified gases.

Rotameters
In a ‘no flow’ situation the float sits at the base of the tube blocking the inlet port. As flow begins the float will be lifted by the force of the flowing medium. The higher the flow the higher the float is pushed up the inside of the tube. Flow rate can then be read by observing where the top edge of the float meets the graduated scale marked on the outside of the tube.
